Can this be used to lube the guide rods on my home gym?

This stuff is excellent to lube up anything. I’ve used it on squeaky doors, my walking gym rollers, my sweeper wheels. I’d say just clean everything real well. 1st. This little bottle goes a long way! Have a nice day!

Is this the same as dimithicone 500

The MSDS sheet for this product states that it is 100% Dimethylpolysiloxane, CAS # 63148-62-9 . While I think that dimithicone 500 is similar, it may not be an exact match.

Are paintings archival when using this product? Does the paints use change in anyway over time from this product?

SIlicone must be removed from paintings after curing and before varnish or resin. There are several excellent YouTube videos that show a few different ways to remove the silicone residue, otherwuse, you will have a pockmarked surface.
