Q: My temple ends are only 6mm (.24") probably too narrow vs the stated 8.5mm?

The ends of my eyeglasses' temples are about 6 mm too, and these straps fit tightly enough around the ends to keep the glasses in place. Just be sure to push the ends of the strap up toward the front of your glasses after you slide the ends onto the temples. You should have no problem with your glasses slipping out of the strap ends as long as you don't tug very hard on your glasses or dangle your glasses from the strap after inserting the temples into the strap I hope that this answer helps.

We find they fold up fine in a hard (style) glasses case.
