So simple, so good!
This little connector is simply brilliant, made of metal so feels solid, looks nice enough and works great.Fits snuggly into the 2 USB C ports on the MacBook Air, and gives you 1x USB C port (you can still use the original charging cable) 3x USB 3 ports and an SD card reader. It works, file transfer rate is excellent and it never drops out.I do exercise a little extra care when it is attached to the laptop and I don't leave it connected during transit either, I think that's just good practice though as opposed to being a design problem, it does sit outside of the computer body and does have a secure attachment to it, I wouldn't want to break it of as that would total the connectivity of the whole computer. I was in a moving environment I'd stick to a cable based connector but they are not as clean to work with.I've been using it for over a year with no problems at all, in a fixed environment it's simply excellent.

A great addition to my Mac mini - very stylish - updated after 2 weeks of using
it works fine with bluetooth keyboard and trackpad linked to my Mac miniAll ports work wellThe USB3 ports support attaching a floppy 3.5" drive (old Infocom discs) and a Samsung Blu ray drive - working well with MakeMKV. Not tested using both at the same time!I have a 2TB Samsung SSD in the drive space and it works well as a Time Machine disc. No dropouts overnight, but it did dismount this am - I don't know why. The drives are not set to sleep and no power glitches.Perhaps in need of a firmware upgrade? I presume that the controller for this hub can be updated? I'll keep an eye on thisSummary - looks great and works as advertised (better than as the blurb says that will not support drives attached to the front ports (does not support the Apple super drive - who still has one of these around?)Updated:after a week or two, I can confirm the problem with the disc drive being unmounted has gone. I did two things:1) in settings, set 'prevent automatic sleeping when display is off' to ON'put hard disks to sleep when possible' set to OFF (the drive is an SSD, so no need to spin discs down2)) replaced the USB C cable with a short length cable from Anker - I did think of trying the original cable but it is now working well, so why rock the boat! Now, the system is working faultlessly and has 5 stars

amazing for extending a mac mini
When you want ports on the front (instead of the back - Apple are you listening!) this is an amazing little add-on and at a great priced.Bought as i needed the extra storage space AND the extra ports i.e. card reader - and a very simple process to get a 2.5" sata drive added.Goes great with my silver mac mini, no issues with port usage i.e. things power correctly.highly recommended.

Doesn't work well with Laptop pladtic cover
Good and compact but you have to take plastic laptop cover off to plug it in.

Great quality
The device is characterized by its diminutive size, light, efficient design, and reliable performance. Despite its affordability, it has proven to be a worthwhile investment. I wholeheartedly endorse its acquisition.

Good
Really worth the money. I use the internal memory slot as a backup

Does not meat its expectations with some notable shortcomings that make it difficult to recommend.
The USB ports don’t work when any of the Mac mini USB-C ports are in use, making it frustrating to connect devices. The size and design is not ideal as the product is much bigger than the Mac Mini, which defeats the purpose of a compact setup. In addition, the build quality is poor, the material feels like cheap plastic and doesn’t match the Mac Mini’s premium quality. In contrast the packaging over product is unnecessarily expensive. Making a huge contrast between a box that looks great, and a product that feels poorly made.Overall, it’s bulky, low quality, and not functional. Better options are available!
