Great, cheap ethernet switch that's held up over time
I've had this switch for well over a year now, and had zero problems with it. It's simple, and lets you plug 5 devices in from just a single ethernet run. This allowed me to run ethernet from my office to my living room for hardwired internet to my TV and game systems with extra room for expansion. It's small, cheap, seems solidly built, and comes with a power supply. My one complaint is that the housing is not metal - but for the price, you really can't ask for much more.Highly recommend if you're looking to expand the reach of your hardwired internet on the cheap!

Plug and play upgrade
I noticed that my 1G switch was not recognizing my FIOS router as 1G port and would negotiate down to 100M. If I forced the router to be 1G only, the switch would object and not connect. Replacement time.Got this thing and now at 2.5G between router and the switch. Speed is great. Where it is a bit challenging is that there is no easy way if any devices are at 100M. The light indicator is the same for 1G or 100M. Yes, advertised as such so no surprise, but would be good to know if any devices are not negotiating to the full 1G.

Future proof on a budget
Works great. I now have att 1 Gig fiber service. My line is over provisioned at 1250 up/1250 down mbps. I wanted to upgrade my old gig switch to take advantage of the speed and future proof my network since 5 Gig is available in my area.

Inexpensive 1G PoE switch, minimal features but does the job
Like:- PoE! Have not loaded up more than 2 devices yet, but an old PoE access point and PoE camera has been running fine since I hooked it up (about a month.) By specs I should be able to power 2 more camera's but have not tested that.- Price, $20 for a working 5 port gigabit switch is not bad even without PoE.- The power supply is built into the case, no external brick to get in the way.- Sturdy metal case.Dislike:- It really is a dumb switch with no management / monitoring interface, which is . While this is what was advertised and I expected, it would be nice to have a simple web interface to monitor power usage and power cycle ports for non responding devices.- Going along with lack of a management interface, the VLAN feature is rather limited. It appears to be a hard wired configuration where the uplink port can forward traffic to and from any PoE port, but all the PoE ports are segmented from each other. Instructions that came with the switch also say the speed is reduced in VLAN mode, but I did not check.Unknown:- How reliable is it in the long run? I've only had it running about a month, so far no real problems.
