So far it's great, but only used it couple of times, but it's performance was good.
So far, love this mower. Performed great, no problems with it. If you are obsessed with looks, this is for you, looks like a well made sports car(mower) LOL. Very light to move around, folds up well to take up less room and store. Cuts grass clean. It's a pleasure to use, I don't mind doing lawn work with it like I have with other gas mowers I've used, battery seems to last pretty good, enough power for taller grass

Welcome to electric
Electric mowers have never looked so good.Easy to charge and prepare, Ego has something special going on here. It comes with batteries interchangeable between most other Ego products, so if you buy a combo with 2 batteries you can also power your leaf blower and string trimmer all with one power source! This really adds great value to the purchase. The mower itself is great. I’d only used the mulch function so far, but it comes with other blades and accessories that help in doing any job you wish. Cut quality is close to or on par with gas mowers in the same price class, though it’s not perfect and might leave behind some stragglers that don’t get lifted up into the blades the first time. However, without spending more money this is one of the best options out there. It cuts quick and the self propelled feature is pretty fast and easy to use, and since it’s electric it’s a lot quieter than any gas mower out there. Would I trust this not to wake my neighbors in the early hours? No. Blades spinning at insane speed is loud no matter what. But it’s quieter than gas and a lot less hot and smelly.Overall, you’re getting an amazing deal that will welcome you into the world of electric lawn appliances and leave you satisfied that you get to put down the gas can and pick up the charger instead.

Very nice, but …
Very Nice Things:(1) Twin blade “select cut” is quite effective at giving a neat cut. I’m guessing the arrangement provides a bit more lift to provide an even cut, even with the standard mulching blade.(2) Mulching seems better than my previous EGO, even traversing in a few longer areas of grass I have caused no clumping as the machine powered through and chopped the blades nicely. Probably that second blade effectiveness again.(3) Runtime seemed a bit longer, but that may just be my wishful thinking.(4) Headlights are a bit brighter.(5) I like the sleek and sporty design, including the way the headlights are integrated. I definitely be styling when cutting my grass, and enjoy the envious looks of my neighbors!Continued good stuff (reason I bought the EGO again):(1) Quiet for me and neighborhood.(2) No hassles with gas, oil, spark plugs, air filter & such.(3) Light & maneuverable.(4) Interchangeability of the batteries with the five other EGO tools I enjoy. But … (don’t you hate that word?): the one negative for me so far is the solution for engaging the self- propelling feature. The two embedded switches in the handle are not as holistic a user interface as the previous model. First time I used the new mower I wanted to move it over two feet after putting battery in; when putting my hand on the handle to give it a slight shove I unintentionally engaged the embedded switch and the mower started zipping away. Same thing when cutting; I typically use the drive when going up the slight rise in my front yard but not at other times and I find it counterintuitive to position my hands on the handle such that it doesn’t engage (particularly when maneuvering the mower when your hands tend to move around a bit). Vice-a-versa, once engaged if your hands move slightly it disengages too easily. I guess I could dial the speed back to zero after disengaging, but repeatedly dialing that off and on (and finding right speed when on) would be a PIA. I liked the previous scheme of the lever you would pull back to lie against the handle much better - was a more conscious and positive step to engage the drive, and easier to keep engaged as your hand moves about a bit on the handle. Safer too, IMHO. Maybe I’ll get used it it over time and find a new Zen, but (there is that dang word again) I doubt it.Overall a fine mower I definitely would buy again. I just hope EGO goes back to the previous drive engagement scheme sometime in the next ten years before I buy my next EGO mower!

Nice mower, but probably needs the extra battery
'k, so this is my take after the first use....I have a small, very flat lawn. And the battery BARELY lasted long enough to get the whole thing in one go. I was pushing the mower myself for ~90% of the time (i.e. NOT using the self propelled ability). I WAS able to finish, but it was blinking red at the end)Pros:- Super lightweight to move around and easy to steer (even 1 handed). It'd be VERY easy to use by a kid or small adult.- Adjustable Height of the handle was great, even for me (I'm 6'3" and this is the first time in my life I DIDN'T have a back ache from bending over using the mower)- The self propelling ability is speed adjustable- Collapses easily for storage- No grease, oil, smelly gas cans, exhaust- It's quiet (think large oscillating fan)Cons:- A normal to larger sized lawn would definitely require the purchase of a 2nd battery (comes with 1 battery and a charger)- Tended to clog and stop when I hit some taller grass (6 plus inches). Had to take it much slower even when using the side chute and not a bagger.Overall:So far, after this first use, I would easily recommend buying it if you can afford the 2nd battery with it. If you don't mind doing it in stages (i.e. mow the front and side lawns, break to recharge the battery for an hour or so while you weed whack, mow the back lawn, etc. ) you COULD get away with one battery as well.
