My hotel Chocolat velvetiser broke after 3 years and I bought a karaca machine, but it was so bad, hard to clean and burnt my tongue. Finally decided to buy this one after hearing dualit also manufactured the hotel Chocolat one too. And it's amazing, I've missed having velvety hot chocolate! And my partner can make latte's again now! Whoop whoop! Heats to the perfect temperature as well. Love the extra accessories Vs the velvetiser too. Came with a few free chocolate packs but tbh I probs won't use. Appreciated all the same. Pricing was an absolute steal since I got an Amazon open box one but still looked brand new and unused, same day delivery too. Almost £20 saved and £40 Vs a velvetiser. Only suggestion is maybe lower pricing in general? And adding a handle would be nice.

Well packaged, brought as a gift- good value for money

You get a surprisingly good drink, but if using block chocolate I find it does not all melt and build up on the plastic tray. The temperature is spot on. The only really bad thing is I find that we my hard water I get a lot of marks on the copper surface.

This is a luxury item in as much as it's totaly uneccessary.For years I've used the microwave or a pan and put up with barely melted chocolate, a mess to clean, a burnt pan and poor chocolate! This little marvel delivers beautifully smooth, fully dissolved chocolate at a good temperature, quickly and cleanly. I have tried buttons, beans and squares - all good; nibs are too hard and gritty.Cleaning is a rinse and a wipe, done. The basket/whisk requires a little more effort with a brush.If you are looking for an affordable chocolate indulgence then this is it.

What a disappointment! I assumed it would be a quality product, given the brand name, but it's not.I've had much cheaper (more than half the price) frothers that are far more effective. This one just doesn't froth enough. Because the whisk is enclosed, and the power and rotation are poor, the hot chocolate isn't blended properly.I tried instant hot chocolate, which all my previous frothers managed, but not the Dualit! I tried light cream, semi-skimmed, semi-skimmed plus water - all the same. Zero froth and not enough blending in.The design, without a handle, also makes it slippy when washing, which risks it falling into the sink - it's not happened yet, but it's bound to eventually!Dualit's returns page on their website isn't very customer-friendly, so I'm stuck with this thing that cost me £70 & is of no use to me at all!

Best thing I have brought, if your thinking of buying the hotel chocolate velvetiser save your money this is just as good only difference is no handle.It's great making hot chocolate with actual chocolate pieces finely chopped, frothing milk for coffee, you name it does it for your hot drinks.Brought it as a Christmas gift for partner and he and myself have used it everyday, we have a coffee machine and it's less hassle to sort out the hot milk.BUY IT, also if your worried about kids doing hot drinks this is perfect as it's safe to use and safe to handle the outside doesn't get hot at all.

I bought the Dualit Cocoatiser as it has more options than the Velvetiser and the Velvetiser sachets are rather expensive. I specially purchased some chocolate flakes from the supermarket to use with my Cocoatiser but was very disappointed as the Cocoatiser worked very well but the chocolate drink was extremely bland. I like to taste the chocolate in my hot chocolate drink. Tried again with double the amount recommended on the flake box. Same result. So this morning with great trepidation I decided to make my hot chocolate in my Cocoatiser using normal plain cacao powder. The Cocoatiser mixed it beautifully with no residue left to clean in the cocoatiser. I added a little sugar to my mug and poured the Cocoatiser hot chocolate ito my mug. Best hot chocolate drink I have had in ages just made from plain cocoa powder, milk and a little sugar. It was brilliant and so much more economical which is important with our pennies being so tight these days. I am over the moon. A tasty hot chocolate drink I can afford. Thank you Dualit.
