If my yamaha p125 piano outputs left mono and right mono, then this cable is not good to convert to xlr because it is simply a splitter?

not sure what you're asking... it's going to take 2 signals and put them into 1 so it will end up being mono... i just find with yamaha that you get a fuller sound running both outputs... however the best way to do that is with 2 separate cables and slightly different EQ on each... this cable simply saves me space on my mixer... i use it on my drum machines when things are panned left and right in the machine i just funnel it all into one channel on mixer.. then sounds don't disappear because they were panned to hard to one side... make sense?
