Cool product if it works.
I felt like it was hard to find clear instructions on how to install. I finally found them and it still didn’t stop my leak. Had to switch to pool putty. A bit of a waste of money but still worth a try.

Thank god for this product
It worked like a charm! Had a huge split on my return jet fitting. Ordered the 4” franken plug and it stopped the leak 100%.The plastic and piece was just a tad too big for my return line and it did not fit. I took a file to the end piece as it doesn’t assist in stopping the water. After filing it down a bit, it slid right in, and stopped the leak instantly. If it doesn’t fit for you, take the 3 minutes to think about it and how you can resolve it without just giving up and returning the product. The plastic piece on the end DOES NOT do anything to stop the water. The rubber is what does that.

This part saved us from spending thousands
Had a leak detection company come out. Turns out it was the jet by the stairs in the pool. The guy recommended trying this part before jumping in to the thousands of dollars to dig up the concrete and replacw the pipe. This little part did the trick. No more leak. and we were dropping to below the skimmer every day.Easy to install. Inexpensive fix. Super happy with the results.

Inlet a little too small for my system.
It didn't quite work out for me. The inlet diameter was too small and it was adding 10 psi to my system. It went from about 12 to 22 psi. I didn't want to risk ruining my system as it's already fragile. Outside of the psi increase, I think it's a great product, I would've kept it on if it didn't put too much pressure. I know it's still within working condition but I just didn't want to risk it. Instead, I'm going to try the drain Frankenplug next. That one has a 1 inch diameter instead of this one which measure 5/8 inch.

Quick workaround for a leaky pool return - Saved $$$
When we uncovered the pool this year, the water level was lower than normal. I followed the 'dirt' line ring on the pool and it appeared to lean toward an issue with the pool returns. Using some food dye, I discovered a crack on a inground pool return built into the plastic walk-in steps. The crack was where the threads begin where the eyeball would screw into. The only way to change this would be to cut the concreate, dig and replace which will be an expensive job. I took a gamble with Frankenplug and it appears to be working perfectly. The pool was dropping about 1.5 inches everyday and this plug stopped the water loss so far. It's hard to determine how 'tight' it needs to be, because at the same time I don't want to crack it worse than it is. At first installation, my dye tests were good, except I felt it still was losing water. I tightened it a bit more, and now it seems to have stopped. It's a great concept for sure! Tightening it pulls the front & rear of the plug together causing the rubber middle to expand, (like squishing the rubber)-- Good luck!

Yup. This Thing Really Works.
This little guy fixed a leak.We ended up having the fitting replaced as it was covered under warranty, but now we have a big hole in the concrete pool deck. The plug was so easy and now I almost wish we just left it in place instead of replacing the fittings.
