I cannot get it to bring the cork out. It does screw the corkscrew into the cork, but when it lifts out, the cork stays in the bottle. What's wrong?

its possible not enough of the screw gets into the cork. try positioning the bottle higher up with the lever positioned at max open

So the first time I used it the lever arm just pooped off and now won't go back on... Anyone know what I should do?

Is it completely broken off or is it in the out position. You have to press the buttons on the side to release it.
