I work on 7 foot tall machines and I have dropped it off on multiple occasions where there is no metal for the magnet to stick and it works just as good as the day I bought it. I am absolutely in love with this light, but I have one issue with it. I wish there were a center magnet. On smaller prices of metal I can't hang it because the magnets are all offset.

Great lights works well, just wish the magnets were stronger.
