Great for detail work.
Great product. I use in doing detailed work in my oil painting. They hold their shape well, clean easily, comfortable to use. Good variety of brush sizes. Good value for the money. Highly recommend if you need small tipped brushes for detail work.

Great brushes.
These are good brushes especially for the price point. They hold water and pigment well, decent flow control, and no loose ferrules. I will buy again.

The goat hair seems much better than other brush sets.
I'm a professional artist that goes through A LOT of brushes. So far, these brushes are great. The goat hair seems really goo. Great tip, no stray hairs like other brush sets. I was doing very detailed work with various brush tips. They held a sharper tip much much longer. I'll post an update after heavy use. I went through a couple other brush sets in a couple months.

For $10, in 2025, these are of high quality!!!
Transon 8pcs Round Watercolor Paint Brush Set Goat Hair for Watercolors,Acrylics,Inks,Gouache,Oil and Tempera (on sale for $9.99 USA)Reviewed March 15, 2025I don’t know if the set I got is the same one as those with terrible reviews, but I must have gotten the good batch because this set is excellent! I even compared the size 4 with my two of my best Princeton brushes, Velvetouch and Aqua Elite. The Aqua Elite is of course in a class of its own and remains my favorite but it’s also more expensive and one brush can buy you one set of the Transon. I tested them out with watercolor paints.Ok here’s the breakdown:1. No shedding even after shaking the brushes in water to rinse off the gum/glue protecting the bristles.2. Pointy. Each brush has a good point, and even the size 16 can create fine lines! (See bottom of photo)3. The brushes have a good snap, meaning they return to their original shape unlike squirrel hair or other natural animal hair that are very soft.Very important: the bristles return to their original point - that can only mean they bristles were properly formed. Again, see photo.4. They are not the thirstiest brushes, like the Princeton Neptune, but it’s just the right kind of water volume, especially for detail work. The larges sizes have big “bellies”’and they do hold a lot of water - perfect for washes or for fine, long lines like reeds, branches, ocean waves, trees, etc.5. Since I haven’t used them over time, I don’t know yet how long they will keep their points or if they will start shedding after a while.6. If you receive anything less than what I described, then it’s not the same batch and you are either getting a fake set or they are a dud.

Looks nicer than fact, but great for hobby, craft and kids
I never seem to have enough basic workhorse water media brushes. The reviews were great, I tried a pack and nice soft flow filaments they are not. Snappy control, no. Not.The hair has been shaped with a bit of glue, and it is more coarse in texture than photos make clear. However, it is quite functional for basic acrylic and gouache- just not special or a fantastic find for an incredible low bargain. Just a basic good cheap brush at a fair for what it is price. With a pretty handle that looks nice enough in instagram flat lay photos, laying atop your gorgeous messy paint palette.I will use these up with thanks but am still looking for that inexpensive watercolor brush set that's a jewel in a haystack find.
