I purchased these as an educational tool with play potential. I wanted a fun way of helping twins learn and spell their 1st and last name. I also thought it would be a good tool to trace letters so they can improve their handwriting. Today, I used these with one of the children. My ideas are going to prove fruitful.I have a few issues that may or may not be of importance to others: The letters are tough for little uncoordinated hands to extract from the box but fine putting them back in (for the most part). The inkpads seem to only have a sheer pigment. I'll have to get different inkpads so that the letter will show up with the 1st stamp. I had to press hard and drag the stamp to get the ink on there solidly. Maybe a little OCD, but the letters are not all centered on the stamp so the letters may create a wave or have too much space between them if stamping out a word or sentence for the academic stuff I want to do with this kit. It'll be fine for creative art activities though. I'll add a photo later.

After having this for a while, I can still say they are great. Keeping track of them is a bit of a pain with a 2.5 year old but she loves them and loves to say the letters as she stamps. This ink pad is an improvement from the other M&D stamp set we have because it has a lid. This keeps the ink...ink. The stamps are a sturdy wood with a curved design to make it easy for little hands to use. The container is fantastic as well as it contains everything and can be easily stored away. The color range is limited but other colors can be added and stored in the extra little compartment in the case. I am very happy with this product and would definitely continue to order ink for it. My toddler loves it, my 7 year old neighbor loves it. The only "issue" is potential staining of the wood. It does rinse off well, though. However, if left on, it could stain the wood. I think kiddos of all ages can appreciate this product. It can be used for learning the alphabet or creating fun messages.

Purchased this as a tool for teaching my 1.5 and 3 year old daughters the alphabet and spelling. This was a MASSIVE hit with both kids! We had so much fun going over all the letters, stamping, sounding words out we made, matching uppercase and lowercase letters, spelling and we even got out alphabet cookies for one lesson too! Truly these stamps are not only fun but a wonderful learning tool. I highly recommend this stamp set for anyone with younger kids particularly if they are homeschooling due to the pandemic.

Got this for my 4 year old and he really likes them! The stamps are nice and they come on it's own wooden box wich is great and to top it of they have their own stamp pad. I love the fact that all Melissa and Doug stamp sets come with their own stamp pad while other brands make you fell like you have to go fishing for a stamp pad somewhere. If you have a nice stamp set plus kid/s, you can NEVER have too many stamp pads. If my son wants to take the set somewhere we dont have to "remember" to pack the stamp pad, you just grab the set you like and there you have all you need(except paper of course). The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that I dont get how/why they sell it without a lid or something, there's too many pieces plus if your kid is the one doing the stamp cleaning chances are there might be ink residue, it could be something simple like the slide in plastic lid that comes with their magnetic numbers/letters set, or maybe a magnetic wooden lid..Also I wish there was a way to better guess if your letters will align as you stamp them! And I think the hourglass shape they have would work better with little hands if it was rotated so your fingers can grasp better.I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

I teach kindergarten and I ordered this for my students to practice stamping sight words. It’s a great purchase! I can use 1 set for 2 students since it has both capital and lower case. There is an ink pad as well and it’s been great and has lasted several months. Students can’t wait to have this as their stations!
