can i have it made to 9' long? & do I have to purchase gutter kit?

The chain is 8.5 feet long. If you want it longer you will have to buy another chain and add links. You don't have to purchase a gutter kit the chain comes with a bracket to fit in your gutter hole, however a gutter kit will make it stronger and direct the flow of water into the chain cups.
