Better than expected
You never know until you receive an item just what you’re going to get. This Sugon 8620DX-PRO exceeds my expectations. While I don’t have much usage on it yet, the temperature and airflow control seems very good. I will need to measure the temperature with my thermocouple to see how close it is. It included a very beefy desk stand for the hand piece - I don’t see it moving by itself. This provides a sleep function which turns off the nozzle. Also included were 4 tips of various sizes, and a spare nozzle/heating element (I don’t know if I missed it in the description but nice that it’s included). The only ding I have against this is that the hose going to the handpiece is a bit tacky and wants to collect dust and stuff. Hopefully it doesn’t degrade and get icky over time - we’ll see. Overall looks like a good unit, worth the extra money over the cheap alternatives. Definitely an improvement over my old Hakko 850.

Very Impressed
I've been looking for a hot air rework station for a while now. I have one of those cheaper setups that have the fan and everything included in the handle itself. I never could quite get used to working with it. I looked at the Quick and Atten suggested by Louis Rossman and almost bought that one. For some reason though, this one kept drawing my attention. It was 1300 watts as opposed to 1000. It was a bit cheaper and I really liked the stand that comes with it.I am not disappointed at all. This thing feels heavy duty. It heats up almost instantly. The control I feel with this vs the cheap ones is night and day. First thing I did was build a little smd solder project using just this. Normally I would build something like that with a standard soldering iron. By the time I finished the little kit, I think I can solder faster with this station than an iron. I started at 450c and 50% air. By the end, I was at 375c and 25% air. Turns out I needed way less than I previously thought. You just point the nozzle at the solder pad and it melts almost instantly. I have some scrap boards that have balled chips on them. I'll be playing around with that next. While I'm not an expert on rework stations, I am an very well versed on good quality tools in this field. I would buy another one without hesitation if I needed one. Recommended.

doesn't heat properly
Shows 500 on the temp readout, but doesn't melt anything (kester 44) after only 6 months of use.Update: changed from 1 to 3 stars, it needed a new heating element, it comes with two in the package. Unfortunately the only place I can find replacements is AliExpress. For comparison, I had a super cheap rework station before this one that I used for two years with the same element, so I think 6 months is still not great, hence 3 stars, otherwise the station is decent. It does take a little longer than I expected to come up to temp after removing the handle from the cradle.

Wanted to leave a positive review for now since its working really well and the quality seems good. Will update if anything changes!

Less than a week and it’s toast, replacement lasted a few months and started cooling down
This would be an ok product if it worked. While it worked is was decent, a little noisy and seemed to draw more current than the 700w rating. I got it for smaller boards because my 1000w air gun had the lights flickering. I had the cheap 40$ 700w ones that do fine and don’t affect the wiring at all so I figured this one wouldn’t bother the lights either but it did.Beware….. the tips are coated with something that take a minute to burn off and should not be inhaled. That’s fine, just take noticeAnyways 2 days in and I’d hear an occasional crackle or something, not really a crackle, closer to a click. I assumed it was a relay or some switch in there so I paid no attention. And then I had this little resistor on a board that just didn’t want to heat up, even with regular leaded solder. So I cranked it up but was at a lower air setting so I wouldn’t blow the part off the board then I heard that click and I notice the scope image was getting darker. I looked up and notice the gun was coating the board with some dark soot from inside the gun.Needless to say this gun was either defective or can be set to an unsafe setting. I think it’s the latter. I wouldn’t take it above 430 on a slower setting and never above 450. Why they allow it seems reckless.Honestly I think you can get a quieter, better performing device at 40$ even when this thing was working. You’re paying for a few extra tips, and 3 save settings and a heavier base. What better wiring is hopefully in the base seems to be traded off by the gun design.Update. Replacement lasted a few months then started cooling down. Calibration doesn’t help, heat seems to pulse now. So maybe 20% of the time it’s around the set heat. Can’t use it anymore

Not perfect - but great value for the money
Pros:1) Cost2) Heating speed3) Large, bright display4) Adjustable cradle5) Auto cool-down6) Tip storage with clip to allow tool-less changing7) Four presets8) Calibration ability9) Spare heating element provided10) Max temp. exceeds some others11) QuietCons:1) Cheap feel (typical for China)2) Tubing is not reinforced (like on my Hakko 850)3) I would rather have a rotary encoder (albiet at extra cost) vs buttons to make quick changes4) Six tips are provided (which are somewhat redundant) but no angled tips. Bummer.I just used mine for the first time to cleanly and rapidly (~3 minutes) remove an XBox Series X HDMI connector. That's no small feat. I just got mine so I can't speak to reliability, but initial impressions are positive. I've been designing and repairing electronics for over four decades and I'm not easily impressed - fwiw.
