Great radio in a small package. High quality, excellent sound, reception, etc.
I bought this for a specific purpose. I wanted an external speaker for a computer that would not take up much space on my desk, but also wanted a radio. Here's what's so great about this.I have it on my desk. I have a stereo mini (3.5mm) male to male cable from the audio jack on my computer into the AUX of this radio/speaker. I have another computer as well, and it's connected to the bluetooth on this radio/speaker. So, now I can change sound from radio (FM only, though), to one computer (on AUX) or to the other (on Bluetooth) without unplugging anything. Just by turning the little selector switch. (Tivoli, take note: Sangean does not make you unplug a cable that's in AUX before you can listen to the radio again.)The speaker is small so you are not going to find booming base. But the sound is full and pleasant. It's really great for voice and it's really quite good for music as well.Yes, the volume and selector for source controls are pretty small, but they are actually very easy to work. The radio tuner is surprisingly good. It tunes way easier than I expected and the reception is exceptional. For example, one station I like on AM (this radio only has FM) also have an FM signal but it's a weak one in this city. Honestly, I cannot pull that FM signal in with any of my Tivoli radios but it pulled it right in and nailed it on this little Sangean. On other FM stations with reasonable strength, it of course works flawlessly. With or without the little antenna attached (A wire you plug in). I have a lot of radios because I am into them. This is the best FM tuner of any radio I have. I'm amazed by it.One other thing about the bluetooth. On my computer (a Mac) I use iMovie to edit videos. On other bluetooth speaker, I have been unable to use iMovie and have voice sync okay while doing it in terms of the audio. Not this little device. The audio sync is dead on with my Mac. I'm really amazed by that. So, I've had this a short while. We'll see how it holds up over time, but it seems super sturdy, very well designed, and is very pleasant to use and listen to. I am about to buy a second one for the office. If you are uncertain about this radio/speaker, just pause a moment and do an internet search on it. There are many reviews by various people who regularly review gear and especially by radio nuts. The reviews are uniformly stellar.[I have no association with Sangean and am receiving nothing for this review, btw. I think I'm likely to buy yet a third one for another desk I use a lot. I like it that well.]

Incredible sound!
As a replacement for our previous radio, fit was actually important. It was the perfect size and comes with even greater sound. Very happy with our purchase. Buyers should note that the radio is small/tiny. It's not an issue, but may be a surprise:-)

Honey, I shrank the tabletop radio!
This little fella is adorable. Having grown up with those classic KLH tabletop radios, the retro styling of the WR-7 tugs at my heartstrings. The casing is natural wood, substantial, and quite pretty. The speaker grille is metal (I think); the dials are plastic, and I agree with the previous review that the volume and selector knobs are really tiny - but useable. The tuning dial requires a steady hand, but the tuner locks into a station once you find the spot, and I find that while it doesn't quite have the sensitivity of my larger radios, it does a surprisingly good job. Using the provided wire antenna helps - there's a socket in the back along with the micro-usb port and an aux socket for plugging in an iPod, say. The radio also comes with a micro-usb to usb cord for charging, and a velvety carrying bag. What's most impressive about the WR-7 is the sound. Let's be reasonable: you're not going to get rich, room-filling from such a small speaker. But the good folks at Sangean have done a remarkable job given just how darned small this unit is. You get a strong enough hint of bass to provide a sense of depth and body, and the balance of mids and highs is easy on the ears. It gets quite loud without distorting, too.Pairing with Bluetooth is a cinch. I haven't tested the battery life with any precision, but I recently took it on a four-day vacation where it was on most of the day without needing a recharge. This is now my preferred travel bluetooth speaker. It's not waterproof or as sturdy as the excellent UE ROLL 2, but it's easier to pack into a suitcase or backpack, and is a pleasure to use as well as to look at.

Tiny space saver with adequate sound
Dimension specs don't really tell the story, this thing is tiny (it really will fit in your hand). I pictured it next to my old Nexus 6P and a standard size lip balm tube for comparison. I bought it to place on a shelf in my bathroom so I could listen while showering, and it replaces an older Sangean WR-1 radio, freeing up a little space on the shelf. I love the looks and that it is recognizably a Sangean "wood radio" and not some boring little grey/black box. I guess based on some other reviews I read here and on the internet I was expecting it to sound a little better than it does. Compared, for example, to the WR-1 it sounds tinny and hollow with zero bass. Pretty much like your average clock radio. Considering the size, this is acceptable but if like me you were expecting a fuller sound, look for something with a larger speaker and/or with more power. I have found it good for morning talk radio and podcasts and not so great for music. It does, however, have enough power to play at a volume that can be heard over the sounds of the shower running without distortion. I can't speak to battery life because I am not planning on using it for portable listening. Comes only with USB cord, no charger, you will need to provide the charger brick. The knobs are minuscule and the function selector feels like the switch inside is cheap and might break with frequent usage.
