B13680-47 - Goodman OEM Replacement Furnace Blower Wheel/Squirrel Cage

Cage arrived with very little packaging to protect it from damage during transit. When I inspected the cage visually, it looked out of round. I rolled the cage on the floor and it wobbled back and forth. I decided to install it to give it a shot. I checked the cage for balance and to my surprise it was balanced. I installed the motor/cage assembly into the furnace and turned it on. The minute the blower motor kicked on, the whole furnace started shaking violently and uncontrollably. Much worse than the original cage that I was replacing. I had to shut of the furnace immediately to avoid a certain catastrophe. I put the old cage back in so I could have heat, and the noise from the old cage was nothing compared to the new one.I'm not sure if this was just one bad part of many that made it thru QA, or poor workmanship over all. Regardless, the cage is going back from a very unsatisfied customer.

If your HVAC Fan (blower) is noisy, it certainly be the blower wheel. If you cut the power such as with the cover off (holding the safety switch push button in, and releasing it) and the noise goes away rather instantly upon cutting power, then it is more proof that is is the blower wheel and not the motor. The old wheel may look fine but there likely may been some slipping of the center hub and blades causing it to run with a lot of noise. I replaced the motor also because if I'm going to the work to remove both, I'll start fresh with a new motor also. I feel it was the blower wheel that was the problem. This is a true Goodman OEM blower wheel and built better than the original Goodman OEM wheel. I highly recommend this product. Make sure you order the correct size, it is specified on the air handler unit such as: 10 x 10.

This is a piece of junk. It is not the Goodman OEM. It is unbalanced and caused more damage to my system when it was installed . Do NOT buy this item under any circumstance. It is not Balanced properly and it is cheaply made.

Bought this as a backup to my old cage, due to the center ring broke and needed welded. Old wheel worked for a few months after being welded but eventually broke. Went to replace it with this new one I ordered and it was way out of round/balance. After reading threw some review comments I see others have had a simmilar issue with this cage. Due to it being out of round my bracket on my motor snapped off, and cause the motor to burnout and my unit to over heat. I am now having to replace my motor and cage due to this flaw. Wont order another from this company seeing now that others have had similar issues.

My Goodman Furnace GMS90904CXA was starting to rattle and and make random noises from time to time. I started taking apart the furnace and found that the blower portion was the culprit. The actual Fan, not the motor, had separated from the center connector and was spinning on that that center connector. The motor had some play in it, so I figured I would replace both the fan and the motor at the time. So far it is working much quieter.

Cage was exactly as described and shipped quickly. Watched a YouTube video and was able to change easily.
