Not For Chewers - Does Not Hold Up Well
Rope toys are great - especially for aggressive chewers. We're long time fans of Booda Bones, Flossy and others. The all cotton toys are particularly safe because the fiber is easily digested, they last a long time and clean your pooches pearly whites to boot.We have two Old English Bulldogs who live to play tug o war and carry their never seeming to end collection of toys around the house, outside and back in. We have other rope toys by Zanies which hold up well and our boys are crazy about.Unfortunately, this toy just didn't hold up at all - within 48 hours it was shredded to the point it had to be thrown away. Please note, I think this particular toy would serve smaller dogs up to 40 pounds quite well. In our case our oldest a nine year old weighs in at 95 pounds and his partner in crime a two year old is 65 pounds - that's a lot of jaw power!I do think the design of the toy is superb, the long rope arms make it easy for pulling and playing, even allowing you to grab one of the arms and get in on the fun.As far as build quality again, this is not a toy that's going to hold up well with larger dogs and or hard core chewers. If you're dog or dogs fit into this category I would suggest taking a pass on this one and trying either the Flossy Super Tug which wears like iron and you can get at a whopping 72 inches. Flossy Chews Cottonblend Color 5-Knot Rope Tug, Super X-Large 72-Inch Or the 21 inch Monkeys Fist, also made by Zanies is just great - this one however misses the mark. They all LOVE this toy
I have two 90 lb akitas and a 40 lb husky. They all LOVE this toy. Better yet, it's held up to all their chewing, tossing, and pulling. They all go for this toy when it's playtime; I think the multiple ropes swinging around really attracts their attention.BUT be careful of it. I took off one one star because when my husky tries to chew on it too long, she'll make choking noises. I think its because of how long the frayed ends are. That's partially good because it prevents her from sitting there and chewing it up, like a treat.. But also bad because of the possibility of choking on it. Watch your dog carefully or know his/her play style!

One of the very few toys our destructive puppy plays with regularly, and HAS NOT destroyed!
We have a one year old English Setter puppy that is very lovable, but extremely active and mouthy. She has destroyed many toys, but not this one. She loves to chew it, shake it, tug with it. She is about 40 pounds, and we have had this toy for six months (i.e. from when she was smaller). It has been a favorite from the start of receiving it. What is particularly nice for us is having so many ends to get a hold of when she wants to play - for us and for her, no doubt. We have purchased other rope toys that have already shredded their ends from our puppy playing with them, and we have had to throw them out or pick up all the little shreds - not with this one. This rope toy should get more credit for its positive reviews by including the reviews for each color as one product.

The best toy ever!!!
This is the second time I have purchased this toy for my dog only this time I bought 2 more. I have a rescue dog that I should have named The Destroyer!!! She is almost 3 years old and I have bought her all kinds of toys and chews and most of then don't last more than 10 minutes. When she gets sick of playing catch with it she likes to chew it's legs off. I think my first one still has 4 legs left so when I saw it online again I decided I should get a couple more before we run out of legs. I tucked these away for some rainy days. Finally she has something to play with and chew when her choppers need some action. It gives me a break from entertaining her yet makes me feel good to see something last for awhile. Well worth the money!

Good, but not used as designed.
Within 3 minutes my dog, a collie/shepherd mix (55 lbs, 2 yrs old), chewed all of the smaller ropes off of the center section. The reason I am giving it a 4 star review is because my dog loves the center rope which is now a giant rope ball. It is too big for him to chew all the way through like he would a tennis ball or any other small ball. It is an interesting concept but does not hold up to strong chewers. My dog chewed through a seat belt once in a few bites when he was younger just to give you an example.

FANTASTIC toy for chewers and tug of war players!!
My dog Artemis absolutely loves this crazy eight rope toy! She tosses in the air and catches it, she plays tug of war with brother Apollo and daddy, she is also a chewer hasn’t gotten through one rope in 7 months!! It has to come in every night to sleep in bed with her. I bought a second one for Christmas but she likes the first one better do we are saving it for when she would like a new one. FANTASTIC toy for chewers and tug of war players.

Review - Zanies Crazy Eight Rope Toy
My two dogs are strong chewers and super smart! They are really good at breaking toys. Ropes are usually ok, but they're *boring*.I thought this toy would be fun - they could shake it by the rope, play tug, chew on the ball center. They did all of these things, BUT they were able to destroy the toy within a week. They figured out how to tug on the knot at the end of each rope and unravel the rope. I retied the ends as many times as I could, but they had already discovered the unraveling trick. My usually disclaimer .... My dogs were able to destroy this toy, but that doesn't mean your dog will. The toy is well made, it's just not durable enough for the way my dogs play.

Fun for whack-a-head game
My dog absolutely loved this! She likes things with a little weight that she can shake and whack herself in the head with. She's a large golden retriever and this was just the right size for that particular amusement. The legs are very thin, though, and possibly not all that tightly woven. Pippa chewed parts of the legs off and started the unraveling process within a couple of minutes. This is really good for shaking and tossing, but be extra diligent in supervising your dog's chew time with it.
