Totally Bamboo Wisconsin State Shaped Cutting Board

I was looking for a gift for my father-in-law who has lived in Wisconsin all his life. He is a big Wisconsin Badgers fan and I wanted to find something that he most likely didn't have. He also likes to cook and entertain and I found this cutting board during my searches. I actually already have the New Jersey board since that's where I was born so I knew what kind of board I was ordering. In this review, I will reference both the Wisconsin and New Jersey cutting boards.These cutting boards are made of bamboo and are cut in the shapes of the states of the United States. They are made in China. The Wisconsin board measures (at the biggest dimensions considering the shape of the state) about 13 inches tall by 12 inches wide by 5/8 inches thick. The dimensions on the tag included match what I measured. The New Jersey board (also the biggest dimension considering the state's shape) measures 15 1/4 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 5/8 inches thick. Washing instructions are fairly simple. You can wash with warm water and a mild detergent. With a lot of my bamboo kitchen accessories, I wipe some mineral oil on them when the bamboo starts to look a little dry. This helps to give it a refreshed look. Do not place these boards in the dishwasher.I love these cutting boards and my father-in-law loved his when we gave it to him! He cuts up a lot of meat and cheese for snacks so he used it a lot right away. I use my New Jersey board too and these are well-made and easy to clean. They even come with a suede loop at the top so you can hang it up and use it as decor if you want. I'm considering getting the Wisconsin one for our family too and it's plenty big enough for cutting up a lot of food. It also makes a great conversation piece!We love these boards and I'm considering giving more of these as gifts to family and friends as needed! They are well-made, look like a great quality piece and are nicely-priced. If you need a gift for a friend or family member, these are perfect and I highly recommend them!

... that we do Not utilize this as a serving/cutting board! Rather, we are using it as part of a decorative kitchen display of Several states that have had meaning in our lives (such as - we once lived there, someone we care about lives there, etc.). As for serving/cutting purposes, it is obvious that this would work well. As for Our purpose - depending on where the little hole was at the top, to hang it up with - our concern was that it might not be centered enough to make Wisconsin *sit* properly. But we need not have worried: it Is centered just fine. So if Your purpose in buying one is similar to ours, rest assured that this would make a worthy contribution.

I got this as a birthday present for someone, and he loved it! I am not sure how useful it is as an actual cutting board as it is on the smaller side, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but it is very nice and looks very nice!
