simplehuman Tension Arm Standing Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel

My home is now 25 years old and the cabinets need repair work. The holes from my old paper towel holder on the cabinet door are so large now from years of screwing new paper towel holders into them, that you can no longer attach another one to the cabinet. I decided to try this simplehuman paper towel holder simply because I have other simplehuman products in my home and I have found the BRAND to put out quality products. I am 68 years old & my hands are in bad shape due to arthritis. I am able to very easily tear off any size (select a size roll) piece of towel that I need without having to hold onto the paper towel holder itself. This is very handy if your other hand is dirty (cutting raw chicken, etc). The finger hole on the top is handy as I can grab it and take it from the sink area to the island to the table. It does not tip over when trying to grab and tear a piece of towel off and the tension is adjusted perfectly in order to be able to pull the amount of towel you need. Once you tear off what you need, the tension bar holds the towels in place so the paper is not flopping all over the place. All - in - all I am extremely happy with this purchase. I am going to have to purchase another one though, because the kids take it back to the bathroom to clean their bathroom and then don't bring it back to the kitchen, so I guess I need to get one for them to keep in their bathroom!!! Hope this review is helpful to all of you who are on the fence about purchasing this product.

This thing is GREAT! I love Simplehuman, I haven't found a product I don't like from them yet! stays upright and hold the paper towels at the perfect tension strength. At first I didn't like it, it wasn't working out for me that well, then I figure out I had to switch the papertowels the other way...duh! haha! Human error only!! I bought this because I had another Simplehuman paper towel holder that attached to under you cabinet for about 7 years and I needed to replace it because the holder "suddenly" loosened from the base (I think on of the boys did it...oh well I got my time and money worth out of it!) The only reason with I didn't buy another one you attach under your cupboard was that I was selling my house and I didn't want to leave a new one with the house and it made the counters look cleaner without it there. I definitely wanted to stay with the Simplehuman brand though. Either way, spend the extra money on either of the products, very very good quality, its worth it.

I have been on the market for a paper towel holder, but I do A LOT of research before purchasing anything. Several things came to mind of what you need to look for in a paper towel holder > Can it fit the size of rolls you use > Is the base heavy enough so you can use it one handed > Is the arm heavy enough so you can use it one handed > Is the design cosmetically appealing The answer to all of the above is yes for me. I saw this item featured on America's Test Kitchen (a show on PBS in America) and decided I would give it a try. It weighs slightly over 2 pounds, which is generally the magic number to have a sturdy paper towel holder, and the arm is actually helpful. You can tear off your paper towels so that you don't need two hands, and it can support the largest jumbo rolls you can find for it. Excellent product all and all. The only complaint I can come up with (not a huge deal at all), is that sometimes, I get 2 sheets instead of 1 when trying to remove a paper towel. Granted these are the ones that allow you to select smaller sizes, but there is more wasted paper that way, or it requires that I use a second hand so I don't get both. Not a huge complaint, nor worth sending the product back for, but figured I make note of that.

The Good: -Well designed -Heavy -Holds paper towel roll firmly even in windy conditions -Stylish The Bad: -A bit expensive The Bottom Line: Since the pandemic we’ve been eating outside more often but our old paper towel holder didn’t work well. When it was windy, the paper towels would just unravel and leave a huge mess. This simplehuman holder while expensive works really well. The arm that holds the paper towel in place is strong and keeps the roll secure. Overall, I would recommend this simplehuman paper towel roll for its function and style.

Very good quality I bought it a long time ago and it hasn't been damaged very good material

It seems to have worked ok for a while. After about a year tugging on the paper towel to tear off a sheet became a bit frustrating (seems the 'grip' of the hold bar loosened). Today, as I tore off a sheet, the bar that is supposed to hold the paper towel steady simply broke off at the base. :::::Original review: Looks great, works as advertised right out of the packaging. No adjustments needed for me. Have now been through two rolls of papertowels. We use the select a size bounty paper towels. The choice was between this one and the OXO. OXO is a great brand but when I saw the matching napkin holder I just went with Simple Human (and own many simple human products as well). You probably won't be disappointed with either. I have not had any of the issues that other posters have had.

Build quality of this paper towel holder is fantastic. Has a wonderful tension arm that allows you to rip the paper towel to your desired length. It’s so good and works perfectly that I have purchased two of them. One was purchased a few years ago. The other one was purchased just recently. My neighbor loved it so much I gave it to her. Definitely worth the price if you don’t have a wall-mounted dispenser. Works great on the porch and in the backyard eating at the picnic table. Easy cleanup if it gets dirty because it’s made of stainless steel. All I do is use some stainless steel polish and it looks brand new. Excellent for a housewarming gift or a Wedding gift definitely a kitchen essential.

Am Anfang war ich schon skeptisch, auf Grund des hohen Preises. Aber es hat sich wieder einmal gezeigt, dass sich es lohnt lieber 1 mal etwas mehr auszugeben, als 2-3 weniger. Hatten schon zwei sehr viel günstigere und normale Halter und beide sind über kurz oder lang im Müll gelandet. Dieser Halter ist solide, stark und hält die Rolle fest und macht exakt das was er soll, ohne wenn und aber und sieht zudem noch super aus.

This product is excellent! My mom's jaws dropped when she heard I spent $33 on a paper towel holder, but it works exceptionally well. The tension spring is just right to hold a piece of kitchen towel nicely and the base is super solid. To test the sturdiness, I tried to knock it over from all angles and it just keeps coming back to the upright position. It was only when I tilt it at an unreasonable angle that it actually topples over. I used to have loose kitchen towel dangling all over the tables and now it's nice and tidy!
