Protac Surface Power Supply Adapter 36W 12V 2.58A for Microsoft Surface Pro 3 & Pro 4 i5 i7 Tablet (Pro 3 Wall Charger)

This works well. My one complaint is that with the standard Surface charger, the indicator light is activated only when the computer is plugged in. With this one, it is activated whenever the charger is plugged in. At times, the connector to the computer becomes disengaged and without the visual cue of the indicator light going off, it is easy to miss it. It is no fun leaving your computer to charge and return an hour later and see that it was not charging.

This was to use as a backup for the ridiculously overpriced $70 OEM power adapter.Pro: It does power the Surface Pro 3, not too expensive.Con: The plug won't precisely fit in the magnetic charging port so you must fiddle with it to connect. The cord is VERY short (about 36") on the output, side and as the input plugs directly into the wall unless you have an outlet ON a table you will NOT be able to charge while using this without being VERY close to an outlet! We wound up just using it to recharge only. Adding four more feet of cord would have cost about $0.12 more to make and then you'd have the normal laptop cord length.

This power adapter is more portable than the one that comes with the surface pro which I appreciate when I travel. The cord on this one is shorter, but it usually isn't a problem.

The power adapter works perfectly as advertised. Personally, the only minor issue that I have with this product is the LED will never turn off.

The quality of the connector is a step down from the one that comes with your SurfacePro but it worked just fine for me on my trip. I read reviews about it overheating so I watched carefully for the first few uses and no such issues at all with mine.

Charger will only charge if the surface in not completely dead.

Works fine but I wish the cord was longer than 4 feet.
