Very compact and easy to hook up. We've got it plugged into our living room entertainment system with RCA connector and dropped an ipod Touch into the dock. The sound quality is very good both from the mic and the ipod. The unit can mix ipod+mic+external. It outputs video but I haven't hooked up the video out. It probably would do in a light professional gig if you need a simple setup. For the home it's more than enough. We didn't want the stand-alone units because they weigh so much.My only complaint is the docking connector doesn't leave much wiggle room and the ipod didn't fit into the connector well. Everytime we changed songs, it would come undocked. I solved the problem with a $10 Apple docking extension cable. (I'm knocking one star for that)

I could not decide at first which karaoke machine to get. I wanted one that had the best song choices and that used external speakers. I went with this one because of the unlimited potential for songs for just the initial price and it can plug into my surround system. There are just to many songs out there to satisfy everyone. I have had no problems with the machine. I did have a problem with my iPod disconnecting from my router but this is an issue with my router not the iPod or karaoke machine. I like the sound a whole lot better hooking it up through the surround sound speakers. I really enjoy the fact you can choose just about any song there is. Even if YouTube does not have the song you want with lyrics, you can print out the lyrics of your favorite songs and play the music from YouTube or your iPod. I sometimes use songs off the iPod because I can't find the song with lyrics in YouTube. It is more for fun for our household so this is more of a sing a long rather than using the non-vocal karaoke music. Because of this, we like the option on the karaoke remote to turn down the music down and turn up the mic for the songs we are more familiar with. This was hit at my parents’ house because there were two songs my father requested that I was able to find rather easily. These two songs were ones they listened to when they were dating many years ago. They loved the memories it brought back to them. I also noticed that this helps build my daughter's confidence by singing in front of us, she is 5 years old. The entire family enjoys the karaoke machine and being able to hear yourself through the surround sound makes it that much more fun. An added bonus is that the videos on my iPod also play on the T.V. through this karaoke player. Nothing else shows up on the T.V. like menus and playlists. Overall this is a very good buy and yes the instructions do have some misspellings but the product works very well. The only thing I would change would be having an option to purchase this with two microphones or at least information if two microphones can be used at once and if so where to purchase an additional one.

Had problems hooking it to my tv. Heard no sound, microphone did not respond. Only one mic can work (if it did). Wouldn't be able to do duets.

Unsure of device that is compatible??
