Cold Pursuit 4k Ultra-HD [Blu-ray] [2019]

When the film was being released, during a promotional speech Liam Neesonmade a controversial statement stating that years ago he, after someone close to him had been raped by a black man, he walked the streets for a week with a weapon with the intent of taking his anger out on one (was this purely a statement to create a situation that would have the film widely talked about and indeed watched or was it a truthful reflection on the past that as he now says, he was not proud of?)The film -A black-comedy very much in Tarantino-style....Kehoe a rocky-mountains ski-resort in Colorado is a quiet town where little happens of any consequence - until - Snowplough Driver Nels Coxman's (Liam Neeson) son is killed having been given a drug overdose.Nel's life begins to fall apart, however just when considering taking his own life he learns that his son was murdered by a Denver Drug Cartel.Nel, though having little or no knowledge of killing sets about working his way to the top of the cartel, one at a time, though in truth it is obviously beyond him to do so.However, as the body count mounts, it seems to the cartel boss that White Bull a rival drug-lord is starting a war against him...which will lead to eye for eye killings.Will the humble Snowplough worker get the justice he seeks or will events overwhelm him?There certainly is many a killing in this action-packed Liam Neeson movie, a long way from his best but certainly worthy of viewing if but caught on a movie channel.

Liam Neeson has a fan base in spite of the fact that he, and some other actors, like Nicholas Cage, have a deadpan one-expression look through the entire film - perhaps through all their films. Yet, for action films, few have the stature and build to keep up the pace of violence. There is indeed a lot of gore and violence in this revenge is the motive film. Far more gore than the rating of 15 suggests.The plot is simple. A drug lord kills Neeson's character, Coxman's son in a case of mistaken identity. Coxman then goes about killing each one of the gang until he reaches the head honcho, a wealthy man nicknamed, The Viking. There are good fringe stars such as Laura Dern who plays the wife who left him, and Viking's wife and son; as well as the rival drug gang's head, 'White Bull'.There is so much killing that the directors helpfully posts a death notice after every death. The only respite from the constant killing comes from the pair of Denver patrolman and woman who were trying to find out what was going on. Their inclusion really doesn't have any impact save as a breather for the audience exhausted by the violence.It is, nonetheless, a good enough film if one wants to while away a couple of hours.

such a slow film, the story is ok but just when you think it's started to get going, the story slows down, sadly this happens all the way through the movie, If I had known I wouldn't of bothered buying it.

Cold pursuit is an adrenaline fuelled action film based on the pursuit of revenge.The plot is simple the pace action packed, sprinkled with a little light humour here and there. Liam Neeson plays Nels Coxman well enough and Tom Bateman plays the main villain Viking admirably.Cold pursuit offers nothing particularly original, but remains brave enough not to succumb to the pressures of overly political correctness which seems to be stifling a lot of creativity these days. Yes Coxman is a revenge filled vigilante who kills without remorse whilst somehow retaining a moral code who never cries, but even braver, his wife smokes whilst cooking!!

This has to be the worse film Liam Neeson has ever made. It was difficult to join the multiple murders up into a story line to follow. I am a great Liam Neeson fan but this was so poor. The plot line was dreadful the only connection between each scene was another murder. Sorry Liam not even a fat acting cheque makes this worth while. Please retire while your ahead.

Highly enjoyable slightly darkly comedic action movie. I maybe biased as I adore Liam Neeson but this film is absolutely on par for him.An enjoyable five stars!

Gentle man turns to revenge. A really unexpected film with rather a lot of violence to say the least. We went from hiding behind a cushion to cheering Liam on.

Good movie! Reminded me a bit of a Quentin Tarantino film, which is good! I like a lot of Liam Neeson films & have many in my DVD collection! I want a Snow Plough now after seeing them in this! ;-)
