Here Comes Trouble (Nothing Special Book 3)

Loved!!
I loved Green and Ruxs’s story! First times and sexual awakening is one of my favorite tropes. Throw in best friends and partners and I’m a goner! On top of all the amazing sexy times in this one, I absolutely loved the sense of family that really solidified in this book. You start to sense the family that God and Day have put together with their task force, but it ready becomes apparent in Green and Ruxs’s story as they fight for Curtis to remain a part of the family they’ve all formed. Curtis. I’m so glad we got to see more of Curtis after having met him in the first book. And Genesis too! Really the whole family that God and Day have built is here! I really enjoyed this one, and I’m eager to start the next!

More feel-good than the others
I enjoyed the first two stories in her series so far and this was a strong addition. I found it easier to get absorbed into this book than I did the second one (not cause that one was bad, but it took longer for the chemistry to feel believable). What’s awesome about this book is that despite the description, Green and Ruxs are really just big softies. This book also leans way more heavily into the found family and develops it further. The addition of Curtis is what truly made me fall in love with Book 3 though. The fathers/son relationship between him and Green (and Ruxs of course) gave the book a feel-good vibe and I loved it. Also the surprise and adorable unexpected Curtis romance was such a sweet surprise.

Chris, Mark, the task force and relationships.
Liked it from page one as I knew I would. I have the others in the series and they are great. This one starts with Detectives Chris Green and Mark Ruxsberg of the Atlanta PD.These two have been partners for years. They are both bi sexual and have never looked at one another as sexual partners. They are best friends and that seems to be more than enough for the two of them. They both work for Lt. Cashel "God" Godfrey and Lt. Leo Day on the Atlanta Drug task force. The task force has been in operation for a few years and has been highly successfull in the war on drugs both at the local and federal level.Green and Ruxs are the two who do the sniffing around for info on drugs in the city. They use informants and any snippets of info they can to help the task force do its job. They are highly successfull at what they do and are an intregal part of the task force.Chris Green has a loving relationship with his family. They know his sexual orientation and could give a s**t about it. They love him. All of him.Armin Mark Ruxsberg on the other hand has a druggie for a Mother. He does his best to keep her stocked with food and the essentials but its not easy. His mother seems to hate him and gives him a hard time about everything when he comes over to restock her shelves with food. She uses her welfare money to buy drugs and cigarettes with and if it weren't for Ruxs she'd starve to death.Ruxs has payed for rehab for her more than once. Rehab that last until she's out and can get money for drugs. Its a tough row to hoe for Ruxs but Green is always there for support. So begins another great read by Via.This one has Chris, Ruxs, God, Leo, Curtis, God's brother Gen, the task force crew, the death of Curtis's Mom, attempted murder, arrests, raids on drug dealers, a Chris and Ruxs finally seeing that there is more to their relationship than just friends and partners and one helluva good read.Another five star read.

Beautifully written alpha/alpha action packed
This is a favorite of mine. This series is awesome - filled with fast action, intricate multi-storyline plots, hot alpha men and their equally hot alpha lovers, teammates who are more like family, funny quips, ridiculous situations... and that’s when you usually hear the names Ruxs and Green. The narcotics task force ‘enforcers’ names are synonymous with chaos and property damage. Long time best friends and partners on the force, this story is about how that friendship turns into something way more. Ruxs has a junkie for a mom who treats him like crap - the reader feels the shame that brings to the big bad scary as heck enforcer. Green has become surrogate dad to Curtis, the teen God and Day busted back in the original book. Curtis’s mom dies in the book and the upheaval that happens with the whole team, especially Green, is a very unique underlying storyline. The story is filled with so much action and twists and turns, the pace keeps you from wanting to put the book down. Once Green and Ruxs get their heads on right, the chemistry and intensity of their steamy scenes is toe-curling and explosive. To get an immersion into this fabulous book, I highly recommend Aiden Snow’s narration - he does an excellent job of keeping all the characters in this series separate vocally, through their personalities and the way they speak as well as different ‘voices’.

My favourite one yet
4.5*This is my favourite so far in the series, mostly because the secondary plot element involving the APD team actually took a sensible approach and wrapped up without any odd dramatics. In addition, it also sees the return of super cute teenager Curtis, who we last saw being 'rescued' from making a dumb mistake in God and Day's book.Central to this narrative is a bisexual awakening for Enforcer Mark Ruxsberg who has slowly been falling for his partner Chris Green without realising it.This book is probably the hottest in the series so far too, as Green teaches his partner all the many ways he can feel good at the hands, lips and other body parts of another man. There's another horrible mother in this one too and at some point there seems to have been a complete 180 on the awful way God's mother treated him as the reader is told she's a "good Christian woman who brought her boys up right". Urm, okay, we'll forget about all the trauma God went through then shall we?!A tighter rein on the editing should have caught that. Still, this book definitely had improvement overall with the grammatical errors, not quite as many as in the previous two.I did also find the "Curtis is essentially everyone's little brother" subplot very sweet too and I loved that he ended up being 'adopted' by Green and Ruxs. The introduction of a potential relationship with Curtis and God's little brother Genesis is also intriguing and I'm looking forward to Officer Michaels' story next.

Ohh I do love a friends to lovers story.
I feel like the tension was extra fierce in Ruxs and Greens story with their sneaky touches, lusty stares and genuine affection for one another. It really set the bar that little bit higher waiting, wanting them to finally follow through with their unspoken chemistry.I loved the build up and the climax. I feel like it hit every sweet spot. This dynamic duo already had a solid connection so it was so easy to understand why they moved quickly when they finally revealed their feelings to one another.Ruxs was surprisingly the darker personality of the two with his quick to blow temper and sad family history. But he also had such a sweet side that I adored.Green was a go with the flow kind of guy. Nothing much fased him and he just seemed to be at ease with himself and others. Oh and he was super playful.Their story had many highs and some real heartbreaking lows. It had a tonne of sweet, lots of learning and a whole lot of belly laughter. As per the side characters most definitely sell the story that little bit more with their larger than life personality. I adore them all and live for the witty one liners and rant filled shenanigans.I really am hoping that there is more of Gen and Curtis. Honestly as a reader it would be so disappointing if there isn't after they were teased to the extreme in this book. All in all another great addition... I'm looking forward to Michael's book and where that takes me.

Here Comes Trouble
This is the first book I've read by this author and not too impressed, sorry but I thought it could have been so much more than it was. The characters were brilliant and I could really see them reacting to situations they way they did. It also had a good story but I do feel so many parts were rushed or skipped over to quickly and the fact that even Curtis and Michaels were gay was a bit off. My heart went out to Ruxs and his character stole the show.

Great story, full of mistakes.
Love the series so far. Will keep reading but taken off a star in ratings as the editing is very bad. Too many mistakes. But seems to be with all novels/authors nowadays . Not just this series by this author. Other than that well worth the read.

Exhilarating!
She's done it again...another great instalment of the Nothing Special series. Her characters again struggle to admit and be what they want to be for each other. The story blends a good cop thriller with a poignant romance, great that she took the relationship further from a couple to a family.Brilliant story arc and can't wait to read the next book!
