Would I buy again or recommend? Sorry, no.
The bag of Gustaf's Allsorts Gourmet English Licorice I received was a huge disappointment in both bag received and lack of freshness.First, the 6.3oz bag I received is not the same as the bag shown on here which has on it an assortment of 10 different candies that is typical for Allsorts. Instead, the bag I received shows only 8 different candies on it, and then inside the bag there was only 5 different candies. The bag contained 25 pieces consisting of only 8 pink layers, 7 yellow layers, 1 brown layer, 5 yellow coconut rolls, 4 pink sprinkles jelly buttons. So there were no plain licorice twists, no white five layers, and no cream-filled licorice rolls(my fav!) that is on the advertised bag.Second, the bag I received was within the best buy date but they certainly seemed old and stale. They do not have the soft smooth texture that Allsorts should have and instead are dry/crumbly, several of the layered candies separated from the licorice, and the licorice was hard and tasted awful! So, would I buy again or recommend? Sorry, no.

Old & Stale Tasting
Purchased two bags of the gourmet English licorice, and both bags were awful. Even though the expiration dates were in 2026, the licorice was hard and stale. After trying a few pieces from each bag, we tossed both bags into the trash. However, we give Amazon credit for giving us a complete reunion and without a fuss. We love this licorice candy, but it should be fresh, soft and delicious to taste. Guess we will have to wait until we are back in London again.

Tasty
These weren't very fresh, kinda hard but they were very tasty. One of my moms favorites ♡

It wasn’t hard, and that was great.
Really yummy. I love licorice and this just hit the spot.

Inedible
These looked so incredibly old they might have survived a world war. They were crumbling, broken, dusty, disgusting and completely inedible. I threw the entire bag away. Don’t waste your money.
