Worked EXTREMELY well for our 4 year old!
I'm EXTREMELY happy with how well this product has worked for our 4 year old. He was at a point where he was excited to stop sucking his thumbs but just could not break the habit. In fact, it was getting worse. Pediatric dentists gave us mixed opinions of thumb sucking, but it was clear that it was causing a gap in his baby teeth as they began to fill in. Our little guy has been calling them his "NO thumbsuckers" for about 8 days now (since they arrived), and I'm happy to report that he slept through the night last night without even needing them. I was having a hard time believing the other reviews that claimed the problem could possibly go away in 3-4 days, and I even contemplated buying the extra batch of bracelets when I ordered the product. He honestly didnt need to use it after 4 days, but we have been keeping it on for about 8 days straight. He isnt even interested in sucking his thumbs any longer. It is interesting how he consciously puts his hands somewhere else now. The ONLY thing I would suggest to the Seller of the product on Amazon is to make it more clear on the quick description and possibly on the picture that your price covers TWO THUMBS! It isnt very clear upfront, and I think it would help you to sell more product (since you are at a higher price point than the alternatives). I was worried that we would have to buy 2 of them because our son used to switch thumbs, but buried in the description you do say that it is for 2 of the devices. I would be more clear upfront! Great product, well worth the price... especially compared to future dental bills!

Good for absentminded thumb sucking
We use this on our 4 year old at night time, since she sucks her thumb in her sleep. We used the finger version of this product on her older sister a few years ago and it worked well, so we ordered this thumb version with high hopes. I don't remember the product being this pricey before though, wish it were a little less expensive. It works as intended, it is just a little too snug on our 4 year old's thumb joint. It leaves an impression in her skin and leaves it red and irritated for a while in the morning after wearing it overnight. We tried just loosening the attachment, but it still leaves deep indentations into her hand. So we now just put a band aid or some sort of skin barrier on before she puts on the thumb guard, and so far it is working a little better. If you have a 4 year old who is greater than the 50th percentile in growth, I would recommend ordering a size larger. Otherwise, the product does what it is supposed to do- stops her from sucking her thumb!

Amazing Product that Really Worked for Us!
My 4-year old daughter has always sucked her thumb. We tried when she was 2 1/2 or 3 to get her to stop, but she put up such a fight and the self-soothing aspect of it was so important to her that we decided to let it slide and see if the behavior would eventually stop on its own. We didn't feel comfortable using brush-on chemicals that tasted bad to get her to stop. However, as time went by the activity increased rather than decreased. Even when she was sound asleep, if we pulled her thumb out of her mouth it would go right back in...all night long while she slept, she sucked her thumb. We became very concerned about what might happen to her teeth and jaw. Our pediatric dentist recommended this product. We had her wear them 24 hrs. / day for a month, then took them off in the daytime...and she didn't suck her thumb at all! We followed the advice of other reviewers and kept them on her for another month overnight. Last week, (after a total of 2 months), we stopped putting them on her at night...and we haven't seen her sucking in the daytime or while she sleeps! We are amazed!! And it was so simple. During the first 2 days of wearing them she melted down and put up a fight several times. But after that, she never complained and actually seemed to enjoy picking out what color bands to choose each day. I recommend this product without hesitation. Absolutely amazing!

Did not work at all for our 3yo
This product was very well rated and seemed to be a quality item; however, it did not work at all for our 3yo. The thumb holes were too long and frustrated our child as he could not eat or play with it on (could not grasp). We cut down the tubing as suggested on the website, which helped a bit but not much. He also resorted to chewing on the tubing, making pit-marks and slivers that could be swallowed--not just by him but also our infant if pieces fell on the floor. Finally, the guard just did not fit well enough. Both my husband and I read and watched the DVD directions, but it did not fit properly. We found the setting just before "too tight," but he was then able to take them off; on the flip side, the next notch was DEFINITELY too tight, as it left multiple lacerations on both hands--no in between setting, so it either injured or was wiggled off. Both my husband and I tried MANY times each over the period of a week to make this product useful, but it was to no avail. I am disappointed the product did not work for us, but even more so at the cost (this was a big purchase for us) and highly advertised success.
