Marriage of Convenience, Friends to Lovers Romance
I've read this book at least three times and love it everytime. It's a comfort read for me at this point. It's got romance, suspense, friendship, family, heart, and just everything I want out of a book. This is the fifth book in the Weekday Brides companion series by Catherine Bybee, but can be read alone. Definitely worth the read if you enjoy the following:✔️ Marriage of Convenience✔️ Friends to Lovers✔️ Bodyguards✔️ Dual POV

Not just a Love Story! Highly recommend
Really enjoyed this book. Two characters from a previous book that had minimal interaction are the focus of this book. But the short interaction piqued Rick's interest. So he has been biding his time until Judy graduates college to pursue her. Now, this is not your erotic romance where the guy walks into a room, the girl melts and two paragraphs later you are in the middle of of a hot sex scene between two that are basically strangers. Rick asks her for a date. How refreshing is that? He wants to get to know her. Imagine the novelty in that. And like every girl should, she plays it just a little close to her vest and toys with him just a little to keep him that much more interested. However, before the date can occur, tragedy strikes Judy at the hands of what turns out to be a very dangerous stalker. It is a life altering experience, which I must say Catherine Bybee handles EXTREMELY well. Rick is right there. His job as her brother's security and bodyguard lends a reality to his involvement that is nice. In typical fashion, Judy makes sure she tells everyone that is recovering nicely. "I'm fine." becomes her motto for a while. But she is not fine. When you face a trauma of the nature that Judy faced, recovery is more than overnight. There can be residual effects for years. And the effects that this event has on Judy plays out in what is for me the most powerful scene in the book. High kudos to Bybee for the realistic portrayal of the meltdown Judy experiences. It brought me goosebumps. I could picture it happening and felt like I was right there. This is a huge turning point in Rick and Judy's relationship, and I was moved by how Bybee had Rick's character handle the entire situation. I can't say enough about the realism in this plot and how Bybee plays it out. This story is much more than a love story. It is really about a relationship getting its foundation. About two real people dealing with real circumstances in a very real way that causes them to get to know each other. It is gentle and caring. You will laugh at these characters, you will feel sorrow for them, and you will cheer for them as well. And in the end, how the resolution of the story is satisfying. It can be read as a stand alone. However, there are references to the previous stories. Nothing to overt that you won't understand what is going on here if you haven't read the previous 4. This is my favorite so far. I have enjoyed all of the series. The flirty banter with all of the characters, the "could maybe, actually happen" story-lines. But this is by far my favorite. It is my favorite because of the scene I mentioned before; the realism of the emotions that Judy felt, and the genuine way that Rick handled it. Every woman should have a man in her life that steps up. That is what most women are looking for. We fantasize about the domineering male that sweeps us off our feet. But the reality for most of us is that we just want someone that steps up to the plate when we need them. Doesn't swoop in take over and fix it for us; just supports us in the best way possible to get us through it. Catherine Bybee does a superb job of portraying that with Rick. It was powerful for me.

Love the Weekday Brides Series !!!
As I started this series with Book 6 and then went to Book 1 on up, I am really sad to have reached the end of the Weekday Brides series so far. I really look forward to Book 7 Treasured by Thursday due out in August . I was totally captivated by this new author (to me). Catherine Bybee really knows how to combine romance with suspense.Judy Gardner has just graduated from college and wants to become an architect. Coming from a small town in Utah she knows she won't make it there. So, with her best friend and college roommate, Meg, they move to Los Angeles. Once there they stay at her brother Michael's house. He is a famous movie star and away more than he is home. Also, because of his status Michael's house is equipped with the latest security system. This is something that will become very important as the story progresses.Rick Evans is the best friend of Neil MacBain. Neil is head of security for one of his friends security firm. When Rick re-enters Neil's life he is given a job in the security firm. Rick is an ex-Marine now turned body guard. From the first moment he saw Judy he only had eyes for her. Although she had another year of college to complete he somehow managed to keep up on her. Once she moved to L.A. life became easier for Rick as Judy was now nearby. He was also in charge of the security system at Michael's place where Judy was staying. As time goes on security for Judy is uppermost in Rick's mind. He finds he is totally enamored of her and will do anything and everything to be sure she is kept safe. There is so much going on with these two I really can't continue without giving something away. All I can say is try it, you'll like it!

Very enjoyable romance
This is the latest in this author's series each of which include a marriage of convenience or similar. Judy has just left college and has the opportunity to work (unpaid !) in an architect's office. With her friend she lives in her very famous brother's house and is subject to security because of her proximity to him and later because of an attack on her in her employer's parking garage.Rick is part of the security company which protects a number of famous and influential people who are connected peripherally to Judy's family. They have a mutual attraction but are forced towards marriage by an unusual set of circumstances. This is a highly entertaining read and a little above the norm for this type of novel. The author has an easy to read writing style and she does make her characters more real than stereotype. The plot here is deftly handled and the consequences of an attack such as the one that Judy faces are not skimmed over. The love match and attraction are well done and although you have a fair idea that they will end up together (this being a romance novel) the development of their relationship is enjoyable. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more follow up or feeling for the person who is killed during the course of the story - they are more of a plot device than a person. This is a light romance with a bit more depth than you often see. The characters are well developed and the plot is engaging. It is a quick and easy read but a highly enjoyable one.

Fab Series!
Love this series! You definitely need to be reading them in order, really helps with the character building! Catherine brings new characters in, you love them before you realise they are getting their own book! The romance was still flowing, we met Rick before when he helped Neil nail their ex colleagues when they went rogue. He works with Neil in his Security firm, as a bodyguard for Michael when needed, he had known Judy from before she came to live in LA.Michael is Judy's brother, he was married to Karen who is now married to Zach Judy's other brother. We first met Judy as she and her college roommate prepare to leave college and head to LA after graduation. Judy has an internship in an Architects firm close to her brothers house.Judy comes over as an astute, firm, no nonsense, friendly girl, so full of live and mischief!Meg, her roommate appears older than her years, but is also full of fun, but she has not decided where she wants her direction her career is headed. She manages to land herself a job working for Samantha at Alliance, the introductory agency where temporary marriages are made. The girls move into Michael's LA home, he's never there as he spends a lot of his time away filming, we actually get to know Micheal more in Judy and Rick's story.Rich has held a candle to Judy for sometime, and now she is in LA where he is based he begins to pursue her.Judy tries to avoid his advances, although she is relishing the attention. SHe does not want to get involved with anyone, doesn't want boys to get in the way of her career. When she finally agrees to a first date, all hell breaks loose as Judy gets attacked. Not the best start to a new relationship, as the attack comes with a ton of side events, one of them being the blame is placed at Ricks's door by the Police. They have to learn to navigate their new relationship through a war zone of paparazzi, as Judy is Michael's sister. After Rick gets wrongly arrested, Judy starts researching how they can get Rick out of jail, when she stumbles onto an unorthodox answer!Although all the time the original perpetrator is still out there, Rick is surprised to learn that 'his pixie' has found the answer, her and Rick need to get married. The threat is still very strong and protection is increased but Judy is a tough strong lady and will not let anything keep her from attempting to have a normal life, she goes back to work.Again, all hell breaks loose - Oh my word, the suspense! the perp is a crazy, sick man but the security firm manages to discover her location.Their next date was really lovely, really sweet and so pleased for them both, their 2nd wedding sounded perfect!

Fantastic Thriller
I really didn't expect the thriller this edition unravelled. Absolutely brilliant the love story took second place to the psycho, which was a pleasant twist.Loved it & would definitely recommend to others. I would also recommend the editions which lead to this instalment.
