PIT BOSS73335 LP Gas Smoker Cover, Black

I bought this July of 2019. I waited until now to give an honest review. This is a good entry model or one for limited amount of meat to be smoked. Mine contains 4 racks, but the bottom rack is almost unusable. It is too close to the drain pan and heat feed area for the chamber. The racks are 14" wide and 12" deep. Actual usable size would be 12.5"x10.5". This would leave room for the heat to rise and fill the whole chamber evenly. It is not cold and windy weather friendly. During weather below 50 degrees f., the unit struggles to reach above 225 degrees. If it is below 40 and windy, forget it. You can get the meat smoked but not cooked. If I was designing the chamber, I would make it at least 2" bigger all around and use some kind of insulation in the walls. For the money, I would buy again. During the winter months, I smoke the meat for about 1 hour, then finish cooking it in my electric oven. Can't tell the difference. I haven't tried a full size turkey. Smoked a 7 pound chicken (hen) two day ago. It was great.

I bought this cover for my Pit Boss 74335 Red Rock vertical smoker. There is no cover specifically made to match that model number, but this looks and feels like a perfect fit. An added bonus I was not expecting is an extension on one side to also cover a propane tank next to the grill. The sturdy full length zipper makes it easy to put the cover on or take it off, and the velcro ties at the bottom keep any breezes from lifting up the cover. Some of my prior grill covers for another BBQ faded badly in the sunlight, so only time will tell with this one, but overall this is a worthwhile buy.

This is not a set it and forget it operation. Get a remote thermometer and read up on smoking techniques- smokerking.com is a great start. I've done ribs, brisket and pork shoulder with great results. The brisket was the best tasting meat I've ever cooked. If you can't justify the $600+ for a Traeger, this is a great smoker.

Slipped over the grill and secured easy, looks good and did not blow off or shift during last high wind event, would buy another if I had another smoker to cover.

Why the hell would anyone manufacture a unit like this and install the gas control valve handle up side down. All the marks are on the bottom. You can't see where you are at

It fits the smoker perfectly, although you have to take the propane tank off, before using it.

It fits our Pit Boss smoker perfectly and protects it from the weather.

This product is a little flimsy and doesn't reach the temperature that I prefer.

Nice quality, like that it zips on - easier to put on. Well shaped for the smoker. Overall very pleased with purchase
