Wholemeal flour.
Came intact. Been great for my bread making. Will be ordering again.

Perfectly acceptable, but not the best.
A good standard wholemeal bread flour. I have been buying Canadian very strong flour recently. Marriages was unavailable at a sensible price at the time of purchase, so this was a second choice. It's not the same level of quality but, for the price, was a good enough buy. I will be reverting to the Canadian flour in the future though.

No longer Best wholemeal flour for chapattis
This still has to be one of the best wholemeal flours I have eaten in ages. Perfect for chapattis and rotis. I will be purchasing this more and often. As of 8th November 2019. Something has happened to the quality of this product. It was not as good as it was in May2019. The quality of the rotis and chapptis was terrible. The packaging it came in had no markings or product info. So I don’t believe it is the flour we hoped for as we can’t tell due to it being in just a brown bag, where as previously it was in Companys colours with all the information and quality. It was trustworthy. Amazon and Matthews Cotswold team you need to be honest about with what you are sending out it must meet the trades description sending it in just brown bags is not helpful. Totally disappointed. I no longer feel confident to recommend this product.

Don't attempt to use the flour for sourdough bread.
Instead of forming a good elastic dough and rising as it should this flour 'crumbs' or curdles as it proves. The result is that sourdough bread made with this flour is heavy and suitable only for throwing away. The same method was used with a good strong wholemeal flour sourced from Tesco with very positive results.Either the flour used is not 'Strong' or it is bleached.

The product quality is outstanding. Exactly what I needed for my work.
Cotswold Farmhouse Wholemeal; Ingredients: Flour 700g; Salt 15g; Fat or Olive Oil 25g; Fresh Yeast or a packet of Dried Yeast 15g; Water 430 ml; Method: 1. Place the dry ingredients & fat in a mixing bowl fitted with a dough hook; 2. Dissolve the yeast in the water and add to bowl. Mix for 8 -10 minutes on a slow speed; 3. Cover and rest for 30 – 40 minutes; 4. Knock back the risen dough and mould to the required shape; 5. Prove in a warm place until loaves double in size (approx 1 hour); 6. Bake at 220°C for 30 – 40 minutes depending on the size of loaf (For a lighter textured loaf use 50% Cotswold Farmhouse Wholemeal & 50% Cotswold Bakers White Flour).
