Does this make your face white-ish when you put it on like some sunblocks, or is it actually clear after application?

IT DOES TURN YOUR FACE WHITE. The people who are saying it doesn't are clearly not applying enough sunscreen. You need at least 1/4 TSP to cover your entire face. It's not white if you don't apply enough, and if you don't apply enough then the SPF turns into the square root of what it originally is. So SPF 25 becomes SPF 5 if you don't apply enough.

Is it better to buy it on Amazon or a doctor office?

I have not used the product that I ordered from Amazon yet but I called EltaMD and they told me that Amazon is an authorized seller of their sunscreens but to make sure that the product is sold and shipped from Amazon and not a third party seller. The prices are the same as at a doctors office but with prime it was just easier for me to get. The EltaMD website has a list of online retailers and doctors that are authorized to sell their products.

My package purchased at the dermatologist’s, has a slightly different name for the 4th listed ingredient (Nov 2017): Cyclopentasiloxane

what´s the difference between this and the Eltamd UV Daily SPF 40, 48-Gram 1.7 Ounce? price difference is $10.

The SPF 46 has niacinimides (B3) which is a great anti aging ingredient. Although this is marketed towards those with sensitive skin, B3 can be irritating if used daily for some people. Unfortunately I am one on those people. It is a great ingredient, it has a lot of science behind it and appearantly it works well for some with sensitive skin, but not me. If you don't have sensitive skin, go for it. It's a great product. If you have sensitivity to niacinimides this may not be for you, choose the SPF 40 that doesn't have it. Another difference is the SPF 46 clear is oil free and water resistant, SPF 40 daily is not oil free or water resistant.
