Like the display, but unable to find a replacement battery...
I like the display. Used mine for a couple of years. But I made the mistake of letting it sit too long. Now, the battery is shot & I can't find a replacement. Checked with Pyle, they are sold out. And the link back to Amazon doesn't bring up a Pyle-compatible battery.

Great product
Well built, great colors and resolution, works very well with my Sony 7A camera allowing a larger and high resolution image for both composing and reviewing. Quite reasonable cost. Unfortunately it doesn't show the peaking signal for manual focus, but for the price it's worth it.

Good not Great for a computer
I am using the Pyle Field Monitor as a mini computer monitor. I have a small computer (2" x 2" x 2") called the CuBox. The CuBox projects fine to this monitor over HDMI - and it supports all the resolutions that I have tried. The color is great, and the battery lasts long enough to watch 2 movies (about 3.5 hours). The compact size and battery duration makes this monitor almost perfect for what I wanted it for: portability with a mini-computer.However, the HDMI port does not accept audio over HDMI. In other words, I have to convert the optical audio out to analog and use the RCA (Left and Right / Red and White) channels in order to get sound. Because of that, I need another powered device (digital to analog converter) to have sound. The computer works with several other monitors/TVs with speakers - but not this one.Because the power draw on a converter is minimal, I will keep this monitor and use it as planned. I really like it (despite this flaw). It will be great for trips and times when I need portability in a monitor. I do recommend it.

Not Great For DSLR Video
This screen definitely shouldn't be marketed as a monitor for cameras. Yes, theoretically it can do the job, but the performance is just terrible. I primarily got this for my DSLR for when I shoot videos. I do like how it mounts and how light it is, but the picture quality is so bad, that I'm doing myself no good by using it. The color is so off, and the clarity is so weak that I usually just end up throwing it back in my bag and monitoring from the tiny screen of my camera. This thing, however, should/could be great for using in a kitchen, small desk, baby room, or anywhere else where you just want to hook up something simple like a DVD player. Definitely not suited for the professional environment.

Okay, but ...
The monitor is okay, but 1) the stand is cheap junk and can't hold it 2) the screw was too long and needed a washer 3) when assembled, it fell over -- I gave up and used a metal table tripod to hold the monitor 4) the sun shade actually interfered with viewing indoors because head on viewing was not the best, so I ditched the shade 5) the remote is not particularly useful for Live View Camera work (a niche use of this product). So, when hooked up (I used a Forspark Prime High Speed HDMI Cable With Ethernet (10 Feet/3 Meters),Metal Silver Case, HDMI Mini Connector, A To C Type,Support HDMI Ethernet,Audio, also from Amazon.com for my D7000) it worked. The image is NOT very sharp, the screen plastic ripples if you touch it (to clean it), and you have to angle the monitor to get the contrast right (any LCD, I know). But, it does work to help compose in the studio (anywhere) when you can't see the back of the camera. So it is not useless. It's worth about half of what I paid. but if I had bought a higher quality one, it would probably get stepped on sooner or later. With two cables (power, HDMI) going into a heavy monitor on a tabletop stand, this one is going to get knocked over a lot sooner than later. Might be better rated for other uses than my studio.

Because the cord DragonPad 5ft cord doesn't work I can't rate this yet because Im still trying to find the correct attachment. My camera has s video and 3 RCA video and the monitor takes RGA or HDMI. Can't find a long enough cord.

Much cheaper than Marshall
I bought 2 monitors at the same time. I wanted a Marshall because, well, its Marshall. I got this sucker because it was much cheaper. This monitor is better than the 7 inch Marshall EXCEPT it only comes with an internal battery, which is not immensely helpful on a film set, however, I ordered a 12v plate from Proam and some Canon batteries, so it will have external batteries for about another $50, which is totally worth it to me.The screen is fantastic, the build quality is sufficient. The sun screen could be better, its plastic, but it does cut glare, it was free, and its damn handy. If you want a better one, buy one. Make this monitor the monitor of your dreams. Its cheap enough.
