CAP Barbell Black Rubber Bumper Plates, Pair

These bumper plates are no frills, no nonsense plates. They're excellent quality, and if you've got a home gym, they'll outlast your equipment. I have three sets that I got about six months ago that i keep stacked up beside my squat rack, meaning, I don't take especially good care of them, and I've had zero problems. The rubber is pretty solid (read: could be rough on bare concrete garage floors), but there's next to no bounce when dropped. These are about the best deal you can find anywhere, and they're worth every penny - but your mailman will hate you when he has to deliver them.They're coated in oil like any other bumper plate when they're first delivered. I let mine be and used them that way, but I suppose you could wipe them off with something. It's not excessive, nor is the smell... besides, their sole purpose is to be picked up and put down repeatedly. Just do that and don't freak out about aesthetics. The metal inserts are standard size, go over both my standard oly bars just fine without excessive tightness or excessive play.The whole purpose of this review is to say that the idiot that gave the plates two stars because his order was messed up didn't review the plates, he took out his frustration about Amazon on these plates, which are a monster deal. I purchased them, and they were delivered to my door for less than I could find ANYWHERE else, locally our otherwise, and I live in Hawaii. They're worth it, go for it.

Exactly what I was hoping and expecting to get. They work great.

So I'm super happy. I've had a really hard time getting plates so I can do leg workouts at home. These seem really solid. And there came pretty quick with no shipping. They are thick but I could get three or four on my hex bar. (Though I couldn't lift it then.) I believe these will last a life time. Though I don't think you're meant to drop them from a clean. (But I don't really know.)

Good for the price. These 10 lbs plates are not suppose to be use by themselves. They will bend if you keep dropping them. Use them with the bigger bumper plates and you should be ok when you drop them on rubber mats at safe level. If you are using them to practice your technique, don't drop them and they will last.

Super slippery (had like a silicone film or something on it) and hard to hold until eventually wore off (gets on hands and makes hands slippery too which was annoying).

I thought I was ordering 45lbs plates but I needed 25 also

Not a bad product for the price. Plates arrived ready to use (no oil/no stink).One observation. The diameter of the hole in one of the plates is smaller. I read a previous review that ran into a similar situation. Just fits a litter snugger.

I should have looked closer at what I was ordering. I thought I was getting 2, 50lb plates. Turns out I was getting 2, 25lb weights that weigh up to 50lbs. Misleading in my opinion. I could have got 2, 35lb plates from Titan Fitness and paid less. I thought I was getting a pretty good deal. Oh well
