New Balance KV695 Shoe (Infant/Toddler)

We purchased these after the New Balance KV689 we'd been purchasing in size after size was discontinued. This shoe appears to be the replacement model. The silver/pink shoe is cuter in person than in the photo and my little girl seems as comfortable in these as she was with the old design (very comfortable!). Easy on/off and is true to size. If you had trouble with the velcro strap popping open on the old model this issue seems improved by a slightly different strap/lace design. My only concern is that the shoe had an extremely strong chemical odor when it first arrived. I just happened to open the shipping package and box outdoors and even outside the smell was so strong it gave me an instant headache. Naturally was hesitant to expose my daughter, but after airing the shoe out on the deck for a day the odor was completely gone.

I have had great success with New Balance shoes for my toddler. The 7W New Balance were starting to get too small. I bought a size 8W of another new balance model, which was too big. I decided to get 7.5W in this model. When I got it and compared it to the size 7W, it is not much longer, maybe .25 inches. I ended up buying the New Balance KV890 in 7.5W, and truly got a shoe that was between 7W and 8W in size. We do use these shoes, but will not get as much use as expected.

I really liked the looks of this shoe, but the size 10 W turned out to be even smaller than the 9.5 W Stride Rite toddler shoe it was replacing. I couldn't even squeeze my son's foot into it.I thought about ordering a larger size, but decided against it since it's not clear which size I need to order in this shoe (my son is clearly in need of a size 10 W). Although Amazon offers free returns on shoes, there is still a hassle factor in having to ship them back, so I cut my losses and just bought a different brand shoe.

I bought these New Balance shoes for my daughter. She wanted purple shoes like mommy. I ordered size 5 which is what she wears for most shoes and they fit perfectly. They are also very lightweight and she's able to walk and run without tripping (this happens with a pair of leather walking shoes I bought at Walmart.) I read other reviews that said the Velcro either wears out or can't be fastened properly but I haven't had issues with this. I love these shoes and will buy a new pair when she goes up a size.

I love the color combo of these shoes as they coordinate with many boy outfits. My 16 month old is a big guy but has an average foot in terms of width and height and we have no problems with these shoes in size 7. Great with jeans or sweatpants.

Since my son was born with wide feet, we have struggled to find a comfortable shoe brand for him. New Balance shoes not only fit great, my two and a half year old loves picking out the style and color he likes. I recommend these to everyone fitting a hard to fit little one!

These are cute and my daughter loves them, but they have a VERY strong chemical smell! Even 2 months later I can still smell it. They are also kind of difficult for little fingers to put on, and the tongue lines up weird, but she loves them and says they are very comfortable. Very light, which also means not well insulated. Definitely a warm weather shoe. They get dirty easily, too.

These shipped very fast and arrived the next day. Shoes fit true to size and were an excellent deal. I did order the wide thinking my toddler had a wide foot. I wish I would have ordered the regular ones as the wide is very wide and the strap pulled all the way over to the Velcro is almost too loose. They have held up well through several trips to preschool and rough play on the playground. I've already ordered in the next size up.
