This book is inaccurate and a waste of money
I am a wildlife manager, rehabber, and behaviorist. The majority of this 30 page volume is about other unrelated animals like coatis, possums, bears... and the made up "raccon fox". The information on husbandry is either lacking or wrong. If your state even allows you to have a raccoon as a pet, do yourself a favor and contact your nearest wildlife rehabilitation facility for accurate care instructions.

Not a handbook
Two pages of useful information. That’s it

If you are looking for a book that tells you ...
If you are looking for a book that tells you about the care of raccoons, this is NOT the book. The book itself is about as thin as a comic book. And what it does talk about is about two pages of basic things. Nothing about real care, i.e. what to do for snake bite, wounds, broken tooth, anal gland suppression, vaccinations, etc., etc., etc. And the rest of the book is about other animals, not any kind of care for the other animals, just animals such as bobcat, coyote, etc. It's only saving grace were the few photo's of raccoons. For info that would be helpful, look up remotheraccoon.com.

Bad read all around. Disappointed.
Horrible book if you think you're actually purchasing a 'raccoon handbook'! All this book did was describe random and personal details about very little to do with raccoons and a whole lot more about their relatives. Much of the "facts" are misleading and terribly inaccurate. The very badly picked photos are black & white and distorted. When the author continues describing other species, there are no pictures of them. First of all, raccoons are omnivores not carnivores, I can't find any evidence that "raccoon-foxes" really exists and lastly, I'm pretty sure red pandas aren't referred to as "bears" on any common level. When I finished reading this book, I wondered how it took on any form of a handbook for housing and feeding raccoons! There where about 3 short pages in the book that actually discussed the species of raccoon illustrated on the front!

Not really very informative
There is just basic information in this book. Most of it I would know from common sense. I was expecting more in depth information. Not worth the money.

More of a summary than a handbook.
This 'handbook' consists of a few vague paragraphs on the care of raccoons with very few specifics. I didn't learn anything new or useful by purchasing this guide. What was there was mildly confusing to read due to formatting or typographical errors. I can't comment on the quality of the information located elsewhere in the book as I was only interested in the raccoon portion. Not recommended.

Love your neighborhood Raccoon!
I ordered this little book after a we rescued a mama and her 4 sweet babies (approx. 3 weeks old) and I wanted to learn more. We strongly suspected where she made a nest in our backyard after seeing she was very comfortable around us ( I guess having talks with her instead of trying to get rid of her motivated her to stay). This gave us insight about them and how smart and hard working they are, no reason to fear them. We are pushing them out of the nature and into the cities, so no surprise to see them there. The mama we rescued looked exactly like the cover of this book, we called her the Raccoon Vogue cover!

This book was printed wrong. It started off with the middle... The book also has nothing to do with the title. It really has nothing to do with Raccoons at all... How this book was even published is weird.... I hope they know that all the upside down backwards copies sitting in a basement were printed wrong lol

Title
The name of the book is deceiving. It has minimal information. Now that's my personal opinion. I just was not happy at all with it
