TascamBPL2 rechargable battery for DR-1 and DR-100 recorders

I have no issues with the replacement battery for my Tascam DR-100 MK II. The previous battery would no longer hold a sufficient charge and I needed to order another one. This one arrived and does work.The only minor thing is that it is slightly longer than the previous battery or it does not fit within the battery compartment as compactly as the previous battery. There is a plastic "arm" that keeps the battery in place. With the OEM battery, it was never a problem closing the battery compartment. With the replacement battery, the latch must be forced closed because the "arm" the holds the battery in place does not directly hold it in place. I believe another reviewer noted this same issue. The compartment does close and it does not open during production, so it doesn't affect the ability of the recorder to function.

I bought two at 35.00 each. I had bought two cause I thought id need it with all of the interviewing I was doing.... well it turns out that I only needed ONE!!! Yes ONE! I interviewed and used this battery a LOT in my one month there. I only charged it one time that I can recall. I have about 155 or 160 files that I recorded with it. I didnt need two after all but am still glad I had them! Its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! I was in village Africa, so def better to have it! :) Hope you enjoy this product! I am planning a trip to Europe where I plan to take these batteries with me again! I am returning this battery as soon as I get an RA, as it looks like a Tascam battery, and might even function as one... but it will NOT stay in the battery compartment of my Tascam DR-100 which it is specified for! Someone else write a review saying the same thing, but I wrote it off as just a misunderstanding or exception! They made the plastic end piece TOO SHORT, and the locking tab will not keep the battery in place! It is obviously a 3rd party and NOT a real Tascam product!

Gave my DR-100 mkii a big boost. Works great. 1 star docked for the cost. A battery simply shouldn't be this much money. But it is.

The BPL2 battery that came with my DR-1 lasted for 10 years. It still held a reasonable charge after that time; however, I decided to replace it and use as a backup. Always properly dispose of batteries; don't just throw it away!

Having gone to the Tascam website and come "this close" to ordering a battery, I decided to check Amazon before actually placing the order. Much to my surprise, Amazon had batteries for less than 1/2 price! Delivery was quick and the battery works perfectly.

When the product arrived, it was not a battery charger but a rechargeable battery.Maybe someday there will be a battery charger for this kind of a battery, but until then you have to plug it into your Samsung camera and charge it that way.

...I thought that my Tascam was broken but forgot about pressing the on button for a couple seconds... It turns out that I did not need this battery but I am sure that it is awesome!

What can I say, you put empty batteries in, and then you wait.After a while you remove the batteries and they are full....Magic in front of your eyes!

ＴＡＳＣＡＭの取説に書いてあったのですが、長期間使用しないときは　電池を外さないといけなかったのですね。入れっぱなしにしておいたら過放電して使い物にならなくなり　今回の購入となりました。当製品は　まだ使い始めたばかりですが、極めて快調です。（＾＾今度は　長期間使用しないときは　バッテリーを外すようにします。皆様も　お気を付けくださいませ。

バッテリーの持ちが、短い様に思います。使用時は然程感じませんが、未使用時の放電が強い？のか、次に使う時には必ず充電しています。今まで使っていたものは同じ間隔でもその様に感じる事はありませんでした。

無いと思っていたので助かりました。耐久性はまだわかりません。
