A Masterful DLC
Okay so I'll be honest, I was pretty skeptical of iceborne before release, but upon finally purchasing a copy and playing it, I have to say.... It's incredible. The game is visually gorgeous, the audio is phenomenal, the gameplay is excellent, the story is.......par for the course for a monster hunter campaign (you get what you'd expect) The game is just stunning, and I've played a lot of games before, but this is one of the beautiful games I've played. The visuals and audio just come together to utterly knock you off your feet and hey, the monsters are pretty darn cool too. Now I'll say one thing, Iceborne IS harder than base monster hunter world, so if you found that to be to difficulty for your to fancy it, than this may not be for you. As for the collector's edition itself, it shipped in excellent condition, the code had not been used and worked fine, and the steelbook is gorgeous. 5/5 I'd recommend this to any fans of MHW, and as for anyone who's on the fence about it I'd say definitely give base Monster Hunter World a try before buying this. Thank you for reading this review, and I hoped it helped! :)

Fantastic game for veterans and noobs alike
I have been playing mh since mh3. Hadn't played in a few years and they had a sale on mh: rise which I bought. Cool game but theres a decent amount of new mechanics to master to play it most effectively. I wanted the old school experience I had grown to love, so I got world. I've been loving every second of it. If you're new to the series, the game is much more beginner friendly than prior entries. Additions such as addition of vigorwasps, more emphasis on online party based hunting, ease of mining and whetstones, etc. if you're new to the series this is a great place to start. If you're a veteran, there's a small amount of new mechanics to learn and utilize, but it's effectively the same game we have grown to love, just with new locales, monster, etc. For those new to the series and on the fence about buying, imagine a game composed entirely of boss fights. If that sounds like fun to you most likely you will love this game.

Iceborne expansion
The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition includes both the base game and the Iceborne expansion pack, which introduces the Master Rank and more than 20 new monsters and modified versions of existing monsters. You are required to finish the main story of the base game. I recommend reaching at least hunter level 50 and mastering your weapon before proceeding to Iceborne. Here is a summary of what you will see in the expansion: - Master rank is introduced. It is similar to G-rank in older Monster Hunter games. Your original hunter ranking from the base game will keep counting. - New monsters such as Beotodus, Banbaro, Velkhana are added. You will also see monsters from Monster Hunter Generation Ultimate, such as Nargacuga, Tigrex, Glavenus. - A new set of Master rank armor will be available. As before, you will need to carve the monster materials via battles. - More powerful weapons are added, up to level 12. You will need to upgrade to the highest level (11 or 12) before augmenting the weapons. - A new location, Hoarfrost Reach, is available when you start Iceborne. At a later stage, you will be fighting in the Guiding Lands. - You can use clutch claw (press L2 + circle) to mount on the monsters to attack them. While the monster is not in enraged mode, you can mount its head and use slinger shot (press R2) to make it slam into a nearby wall. Agitator skill is useful to tell whether the monster is enraged. - The effect of the temporal mantle would disappear if you get hit many times within the time window - When you join a battle with the SOS signal, you are sometimes led directly to the monster instead of the camp. I recommend eating a meal before starting. - For skill decoration, a new type of jewel (slot level 4) is introduced. It either gives you an 2-level upgrade of skill (e.g. evasion), or a combination of upgrade (e.g. Fortitude + Release). - In certain locale, you can call out small monsters (e.g. jagra in ancient forest) for a ride to your destination. You can sharpen your weapon or take potion while you are riding. What I like: - The clutch claw is helpful to fight flying monsters when you use melee weapons, such as switch axe and dual blades. What I don't like: - You need to collect new materials for weapon augmentation of your level 11 or 12 weapons. The augmentation materials are not available until a very late stage of the game, which makes it pointless since you have fought most of the tough monsters. - After finishing the main story, you need to reach at least Master rank 69 in order to fight additional monsters, such as Brute Tigrex and Gold Rathian. Expect to spend long hours between finishing the main story and reaching level 69. Tips for battle: - Prepare a table with the list of monster weakness (e.g. fire, ice) and ailments (poison, paralysis). Change your weapon accordingly before starting the battle. - Once you entered the Guiding lands, you will fight multiple monsters and won't be able to set the decorations for your armor. So you should save your armor and weapon configurations ahead of time. For example, I have fire weapon+ice resistance, paralysis weapon+fire resistance, etc. - The Master rank armor has much higher defense (140+) and the previous ones (70). Better upgrade to the Master rank armor early while you are going through the main story. I use the Tigrex set for earplug and speed eating skills. - Stun resistance is extremely useful to avoid getting knocked out by the monsters, especially when you are playing solo. - Use Mega demondrug and Mega armorskin once you enter the Guiding lands. The effect will stay as long as you don't leave the place. Report to your handler every time you have slayed or captured a monster. - In the Guiding lands, the scoutflies won't lead you to the mining crops, bonepiles, or signs of turf war. Those are usually found along the edge of each region. Conclusion: The Iceboure game is a lot of fun especially when you engage in battles with skillful players across the world. The variety of weapons and armor allow you to customize diff sets against the monters. I don't like the grinding part for augmentation materials after finishing the main story, but that's totally optional.

A Great All-In-One for MH: World
Listen, go ahead, get the whole package. While you're at it, get Sunbreak. Oh and 4U, oh and also...wait you get it. Look, it's not my favorite at all. The "realistic" MH feeling was a bit boring for me, and I didn't really like the move away from the cartoonish to realism in the monsters and weapons. That being said, it has great gameplay and still is addictive as ever, brimming with content. I fault not, a fun game for some, and a great game for others, but not bad at all! MH forever!

Incredible Game! All the DLC is on the Disc!
The delivery: Arrived on time & intact 📦 The product: Monster Hunter World Iceborne is a great game with a ton of content! There's so much to see & so many creatures to hunt! You could spend months playing everything it has to offer! The single player is fun & playable OFFLINE. All DLC is on the Disc, just finish the main campaign & Iceborne becomes available. My thoughts: It can be a tough game to beat, but it's so satisfying to craft an awesome weapon & take down that crazy boss in an epic showdown! I love this game & I'm now a fan of the Monster Hunter series!
