Great progress so far!!
Fast delivery, good quality product. I used lime to let woodchips sit overnight, and now, roughly for weeks since setting up a brick, I have this result. They are looking good to be harvested in a week or so.

The spawn must have been dead or something when I received it; did not work at all and just stunk quite a bit

Oyster mushrooms
I was afraid this was not going to work however it took approximately 3 and 1/2 weeks and I am loaded with mushrooms so excited they're beautiful excellent product I would order again in a heartbeat

What you get is a sandwich bag with uncolonized grains. Contamination is very likely since the substrate must have been separated from its original bag during colonization. Result is a very large black mold contamination in my batch.

Only 3 days after removing the plastic wrap from substrate
The media could not be loaded. Initial bag of grain spawn didn't look right, so I texted a picture to the seller (number on the paper enclosed with the bag of grain) with a question. He quickly offered me a new bag for no charge, which I inoculated lime-sterilized straw substrate with for 2 weeks. It's already starting to fruit like crazy!

Colonizing coffee grounds
The grain spawn arrived neatly packaged and labeled. I'm currently using it to colonize 2 jars of coffee grounds be I transfer it to straw. It's spreading throughout the coffee grounds very nicely.

Failure of spores to colonize
I am new at growing mushrooms. Was successful at my first try while living in the US Virgin Islands. I grew Oyster Mushrooms using a mixture of lemon grass And Guinea grass.Visiting my son in Florida I tried to grow , pink and blue oyster mushrooms on palm leaves. A dismal failure! I know that wheat grass is recommended but I plan to grow on a regular basis in Trinidad, hence the effort to find a substrate obtainable in the local environment. I am still waiting for signs that the spores have colonized the substrate. I have six plastic bags hanging in the darkness of my son’ s storage house. My plastic seedling house is set up waiting…..
