Misleading Information
I purchased this mat several years ago and used it off and on for yoga over the years. When I started to attend yoga classes on a more frequent basis I noticed that I was wearing out the old mat and needed a new one. Thankfully I was able to go back on Amazon and order another one as I liked the thickness of the mat, especially on my knees. Well, I got the new mat last week and this mat is not anything like the old mat. The new mat in the headline says its 71 inches long but in the product info it says 72. It's clearly 71 inches. It also says it's 5/8 inch thick in the headline and product info, however; it's NOT 5/8 inch thick. It's barely 1/2 an inch. Lastly, it's not 24 inches wide, it's 23 inches wide. That being said, I've used the mat several times already for yoga and I actually don't mind the thickness as it's a bit more firm than the other mat and it doesn't seem to bother my knees. However, I do wish the mat was 24 inches wide instead of the 23. Overall, the thickness of this mat is better than the thin mats that most people use for yoga but the misleading information of the seller will make me pause before buying another mat from them in the future.

So much more comfortable than traditional mats
I'm confused by the reviews that say there was no strap with this mat. I initially thought it came without one, but it was wrapped up in the middle - so don't worry when you get it and you don't immediately see the straps. You'll need them, too, since many non-adjustable yoga mat straps are much too small for this thick mat. If you buy other straps that are more attractive than plain black, just make sure you buy adjustable ones. As you can see in my picture, though, there was a plain black strap with the mat. It smelled a little bit when I first opened it, but after leaving it unfolded overnight, that dissipated. As some others have mentioned, there were a few tiny defects in the mat left from where the original packing cut into the edges a bit. They're very, very minor, though, and won't affect usage of the mat. It's a little bit heavy compared to thinner yoga mats, but that's to be expected. The color is really bright and vibrant,so I love that part.In terms of usage, this mat is wonderful. I've always hated having to double or triple fold a mat for certain exercises. I don't have to do that at all with this one. It doesn't matter if the surface is concrete, hardwood, etc. It might be a little sponge-y for super intense balancing (handstands) since the mat has a little more give. However, for most purposes, it's great and it absorbs a lot of the pressure on your body. One more thing - due to the thickness, this also doubles nicely as a nap mat for little kids.

Great mat
During my antigravity yoga classes and the various other aerial activities I do, the run-of-the-mill Gaiam mats (and similar ones) weren't doing it for me. Maybe my knees are super sensitive or something, but I was having issues holding poses because the floor was hurting me. Later on I would find bruises on my shins and knees. I should note that this was ONLY happening to me during aerial stuff - I can do vinyasa on a regular-thickness mat. This mat is wonderful. It's approximately twice as thick - maybe a little more - than a standard yoga mat. It unrolls easily, without curling too much at the ends. It rolls back up easily, and I never have trouble putting the velcro strap back around it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it seems extra slippery. It moves around a bunch, and kind of slids back and forth if I don't ground my feet (or hands, or knees, or whatevs) carefully before moving around on it. No matter how much it slips around, though, it doesn't seem even close to wanting to tear or split. We joke about how it's my 'old lady mat' because it's so plush and padded, but I don't even care. I can hold poses longer and get better at them, which makes me super happy.

Decent gym mat for ab exercises, stretching and avoiding the sweat from fat lazy clowns who don't bother to clean gym mats
I was sick of dirty gym mats. Some brainless gym knuckleheads use the gym supplied mats, roll all over them with their fat sweaty bodies and don't even think about cleaning them - it's disgusting. This mat saves me the "pre-cleaning" routine. I'm not a germ-a-phobe but I refuse to lay around in other people's sweat and filth. The mat is thick (5/8"), soft and pliable. The length is good - I'm 6'1" and 225 pounds and I can do press-up and ab roll outs and not touch the gym floor which is like a men's room at a truck stop. This is a great mat for front and side planks, ab roll outs and general stretching. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's a bit too soft. The surface seems to want to tear and scuff. It bounces back but I'm not sure how long this mat will last. The velcro carry strap is a bit too short. If you don't roll this mat really tight, it can be hard to get the velcro carry strap in place. But for $15 it works well enough and allows me to avoid fat guy sweat from the smelly douche that refused to clean the gym supplied mat before I got there.

I LOVE this mat!
I have arthritis and doing floor exercises has been very hard on my knees and hands. My old yoga mat would have to be doubled and tripled up and then I could only ever have it under my knees or hands, not both, and it still wasn't thick enough. Then I got this and I am floored by how thick it is. It feels divine under my knees and hands. And it's super long, too, so I can fit my body on the whole thing. It comes in a plastic bag that could probably be used as a carrying case but I use my mat at home and it seemed like it would be difficult to shove the mat back in the bag. Mine also came with the carrying handles, which I also probably won't need but it's nice to have them just in case.My only reason for rating it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I am a bit concerned about durability. The material used is thick foam and I don't think it'll tear easily but I do worry that over a few months, the mat will flatten out too much. Then again, it's fairly inexpensive so if it gets too flat, I'll just replace it.

It’s a great product for the money !
This yoga mat is a lot thicker then my other one and a lot more comfy !!!!! Now my hand are still sliding but I’m doing hot yoga so I’m sweating ! But it sure is a lot more comfortable then a thin one . The handle are nice and easy to slide on too !!!

Thick foam
It's as advertised. It's pretty comfortable to do mat exercises on because of the thickness, it's not as grippy as I'd thought though. I do use it regularly and it hasn't split or cracked anywhere and I've had it for about a year. 3 stars- it didn't blow my mind but the value of what you get is good. One awesome aspect is that it's long. I'm 5"10 and laying fully out on it I don't have my legs or head falling off the edge.

Perfect :)
Nice color, i wish it was a tiny bit larger but it perfectly works for all the exercices i do, i just need to turn around for side lunges, no big deal. Very thick and comfy (I probably will bring it for when i have to sleep in the woods as a easy to transport foam to sleep on), came quickly. However, the transport strap leaves a mark in the foam. It dosent slip under my feet and it stays right where you place it on the ground (some mat i tried would move on the ground with some exercices and almost make me fall over).Great product. Would reccomand.

Over a year of regular use and it’s still going strong !!
Over the last decade, since seriously getting into meditation and yoga, I have bought and tossed over 20 yoga mats but this one has stayed with me for over a year now and I could not be happier. Extremely durable and soft, it has the look and feel of a high end product and the comfort that each one of us - who spends their precious mindful moments on our mats - seeks out of a product that is part of our personal journey of mindful reflection and natural relaxation. Almost all of my friends and family also own one of these now and I will highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid mat.

Squishy ^___^
So comfy and thick. The color is so off in the photo. It is bright pink which was an amazing surprise!!! My puppy keeps trying to monopolize the mat when I'm doing my yoga because it's so comfy, hehe ^__^Cons: prone to small cracks and scratches, and obviously significantly bulkier than regular yoga mat, but that doesn't matter to me :-)

Great Mat, Let's You Last Longer
Overall, excellent mat. I got it in the pink colour and it looks great.Do no underestimate the benefit of it's thickness. This slight cushioning makes it easier to do yoga longer by reducing the pressure on hands and feet and allowing you to focus more on the effort in other muscles. However, as I think others have said, it doesn't have the best grip. That's not to say you're slipping all the time, only in certain high pressure, slanted poses will you notice a lack of grip. I can get around that for the other benefits it provides.
