Of Women and the Essay: An Anthology from 1655 to 2000

Long-awaited anthology of women's essay: MARVELOUS!
I've long been waiting for a book like this, which both collects essays by women that *should* be canonical, and also addresses the vexing question of why essays by women are so relentlessly overlooked or allowed to go (as did an earlier excellent anthology by a woman editor, THE ART OF THE ESSAY) out of print. Here's hoping Spinner's anthology will serve as a corrective and change American readers' understanding of who an essayist is.
