Purchased just in time for an arctic blast in Chicago where I walk several blocks through the Loop from the train to my office building. I love this hat! It is so warm and the flaps are a life saver! I had some 180 earmuffs, which I love, but I now wear glasses every day that have bowed ear pieces and they don't fit well with the earmuffs. These flaps are loose, but still close to the ear and very warm. The only complaint is the hat is almost too warm. When I get on the train, or the weather is around 30 degrees, I have to take the hat off or not wear it because my head sweats. But hey, the point of the hat is to keep you warm!!

The reviews are correct: the size runs small so order at least one if not two sizes larger. I'm a men's large and I order XXL and it fits. The other criticism is the hat was stored in a place filled with cigar leaves or cigars. Upon opening the "plastic sealed" bag, I had a whiff of cigars and further sniff of the brand new hat confirmed that this hat was made or was stored in a factory/warehouse filled with cigar smoke. The hat is of good quality but I won't be buying hats from Turkey anytime soon. I"m going to risk it and keep it, spray some Febreeze and hope for the best.I have animal fur bomber hat from China, and no smell whatsoever. Surprised that Turkey couldn't be likewise.

My size is 60 cm ,5 1/2 or 23.25 inches . This basically is right in between L and XL and I got the XL . I don't like my clothes too tight or too loose and this item fit spot on.snug but not tight. If your at the upper range of your size and don't like clothes too tight I would go up one size. I put one light coat of mink oil on it and all I can say is wow , I love this hat. This replaces a similar hat made of rabbit fur which smelled like road kill after playing in the snow. I feel confident that I could play in the snow and wear in rain for short periods especially after mink oil.

I had this hat on my wish list for a long time and bought it when the price was right. I don't know why I wanted it, it's a man's hat (I'm not a man) and totally wrong for my face but there it is.My head measurement for men's hats based on info gleaned on the internet is 23 and a half. I got the extra large and it's a comfortably snug fit. Perfect. The tiers are leather thongs and look pretty stupid tied on top of your head when you want to wear it flaps up, but you can tie them low in the back which looks good. The wool over the forehead is stitched in place - the wet will get trapped there and not run down into your face. So there's a function to that. The wool and leather aren't fragile. It's very warm. All in all, I'm very happy with this hat.

This was a very good purchase. I normally wear a 7 3/8 long oval hat, but the other reviews were correct when they said that the sizes run small. I like extra room when I wear headgear like this, so I ordered the xx-large. The extra room allows for more comfort when wearing it for extended periods of time and it also allows for a thin watch cap to be worn underneath like layering shirts to keep the proper core body temperature depending on the activity level.This xx-large hat fits only slightly larger than a large. It's a good and comfortable fit, but it's not as roomy as a person would expect from that size.One thing about this hat that is a little disappointing is that the front fur flap is sewn to the hat so that it can not be lowered to cover my face if I wanted. Other hats that I have seen use snaps or velcro that allows the front flap to be lowered. On the other hand, this hat looks more refined and finished because that front flap is sewn in place.The hat lining is soft, but it's not rabbit fur soft. It's wool and that means that it's a little rougher. Overall, it's a very good hat and the shipping was amazingly fast. I would have received the hat in less than 48 hours if not for the week-end and It shipped from Istanbul Turkey.

I love the hat. Here's my observation and i agree with some reviews. It's warm and cozy for WA weather. The leather on some areas are not as smooth, have minor cracks when you run your hands over. The fur inside the cap and the fur on ear flaps are two different materials, not sure which is the real sheepskin. Fur on the edges of the back, not as thick as the rest, would of love to have it thick all around.
