The inserts helped my husband have a better gate while walking.

I have uneven legs from an accident and these are probably the best I've ever found. ( I have only once tried super expensive ones and they are no better for me so I figured I'd buy less expensive ones and just change them out if they get worn or gross. . So far they have not . I have not tried washing them in the washing machine . There are two in the package and each one has three layers that are stuck together with some kind of sticky glue-like substance that is actually nice because it doesn't stick so much that you can't pull them apart but they don't fall apart either. Each of the two has 3 layers so to speak. You can try all three and if it's too high peal off the next layer and if that's too high peel the final layer off.. The lowest works for me however I did try it with two layers and it seem to work really well at staying together (I've had some in the past that if if you needed more than one layer they would slide inside your shoe and not give you the lift you need as well as being uncomfortable. I don't like the plastic ones that you see around. This is a nice soft comfortable fabric though the lift itself is sturdy enough that it keeps the height and doesn't squash down. And the price is right. I would suggest giving them a try. Believe me, I know, I've been doing this for 20 years :-)

I've been using Adjust-a-Lift heel lifts for years and won't change. Many of us out there have a 'short leg' (my right is 8mm shorter than the left). My chiropractor introduced me to a similar lift, but his were sky-high in price and not much different. My 'on feet all day' lower back pain went away. It was that simple....and amazing. Tip for fitting to boot or shoe: Stuff a sheet of notepaper in the boot or shoe heel, press down and fit the paper to the edges and smooth it out, pencil a line around the groove, cut out the shape from the paper and trace around the paper to the leather of the lift, cut it out, peel off the rubber until you get the thickness you need, and slap it in the boot or shoe over or under insole. The lift will stay put like it was built in...if you wear the right size boot or shoe for your foot.

Didn't provide stability. Didn't help the problem.

I have one leg 1/2 inch longer than the other. I have bone on bone in both knees and I broke my hip 5 months ago. I am 76 and have a high pain threshold. My lower back, where I know I have arthritis, was starting to hurt. My PT suggested I try these lifts that can peel apart to adjust for height. I use it as it came without peeling off any layers. He suggested I start with short periods of time until I got used to it. I adjusted quickly using them in my Skechers. I don’t even realize I am wearing them if I am walking. I can’t use them in a pump or shoe that does not cover the top of my foot. I like that I can still have memory foam in my shoes with this lift. There are no more cute shoes in my future. 😀

I highly recommend these if you are looking for a solid heel lift. They used dense excellent quality rubber to make these. Nice quality lower grain leather on top. Used to give my flat base aggressive skates. a mild heel lift. These worked perfectly. DO NOT expect shock absorption from these. They provide excellent control. A liner or insole should be used over these.
