Birdsong

We checked this out of the library, and my 14 month old went crazy for it! I had to buy it. Kids really respond to all the fun bird sounds. The book is very creative and would make a unique addition to your home library.

We first got this from the library. I hated reading it but my kids loved it, and loved it more and then loved it more. I guess something happened by the 300th time I read it that turned me. Now we all love it and have even made a little family play out of it.... Who'd have thought?

This is such a cute book! The illustrations are great and very colorful/playful, and the story is fun to read - trying to say what each brid sounds like is a lot of fun!

This book has very lovely pictures and the "songs" of each of the birds is fun to read aloud with your child. My 2 year old son really loves this book and requests it regularly.

Our infant is only two months old but already enjoys the wonderful illustrations and all of the bird sounds. This is one of those children's books that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. I hope Ellie Sandall writes more soon, this little book is magical!

My toddler loves the gorgeous illustrations and fun birdsongs that Ellie Sandall shares in this picture book. The gentle humor is a hit as well - he loves to repeat to himself "Whatever could have made him fall?" A great book to share with little ones!

I bought this book for my grandaughter after reading reviews from a variety of sources. As an ex-primary school headteacher, I have purchased many children's books over the years and this book has all the features I was looking for. The illustrations are produced using a variety of media including pastels, watercolour paint and collage. This means that there is plenty of detail for children to look at and they could try to reproduce this style if they wanted to. The story is simple, but with a great deal of cumulative repetition and rhyme, which children will soon learn and join in with. This is invaluable as an informal way of teaching children that print carries meaning and the cadences of speech. The humourous aspect will appeal to slightly older children and there is plenty to talk about on each page. I think that this book is suitable for reading with a child, but would also be enjoyed by a child in the early stages of reading to themselves. This is a wonderful book which should become a firm favourite with any child.

Wonderful book. Bright, colourful and very cheery. I bought this book after I heard it being read on CBeebies. My children are two years old and 11 months and they love the book. This is a sound making book so not so many words but a lot of bird sounds and chatter. Brings children closer to nature I think with a cute story too.

Book as described, nicely packaged.It is read on cbeebies by big bird and strangely out of print. It's awesome.

My son loves this story, so it was an obvious choice as a present for my niece.

Bought for my grandchildren...they love it !
