My first model!
Some parts are flimsy so watch out rigging. Overall, for the money, I think it turned out quite well.

Horrible instructions
A lot of pieces do not fit together correctly, so you have to modify them, instructions are bad, your guessing on items, some parts are melted.Would not recommend!

Not a good kit
I've been building tall ship models for decades, both wood and plastic. Years ago I built a model of the Flying Cloud Clipper that has since been lost during one of many moves and I've always wanted another Clipper ship in my collection so I bought this kit. After opening the box and looking over the parts I'm not even going to bother trying to build it, I just ordered a Revell kit of the Cutty Sark instead. Before even looking at the parts trees I noted that this kit does not come with a full set of sails. I build most of my models with standing rigging, no sails, but one of the things that makes a model of a Clipper so attractive is how they look at full sail. This kit has only three jib sails, no outer studding sails and no stay sails (the jib like sails that are hung between the masts) and the main course sails, the lowest and largest sails on the masts, are furled. Not the look you want for a Clipper at full sail. I may have been able to live with that but then I looked at the parts. There is excess scrap plastic all over everything; the small pieces like ladders etc. are covered with it which would take a lot of time and effort to remove without breaking these small delicate pieces in the process, a task there shouldn't be any need for. The two hull half's are of very thin plastic and don't fit together well at all. They tried to compensate for this with two inner braces to hold the half's together but if they'd been made well in the first place that wouldn't have been necessary. It looks as if one of the first steps, putting the hull together, would be a chore in itself. Just looking at the parts trees it's glaringly apparent that this is not a well molded kit and would be a nightmare to build. So as said, not even going to try, I'll eat the cost on this one and put my effort into the Revell kit that does have full sails and from what I know of Revell is without doubt a better made kit. I wouldn't recommend this kit unless you enjoy being frustrated with a tedious and difficult build.
