Vibrant must bleach before!
I love this dye! I have used a lot of different dyes colors and brands, this is my favorite. I got the orchid I had copper hair and I bleached it to lighten up the color (you must bleach your hair for this dye to stick! Even on virgin hair) my hair was still slightly orange. I mixed the color with white conditioner I used tea tree conditioner for the feel and benefit , I used about 6 drops of color keep adding drops till it’s the color you wish, Don’t use the whole tube it’s unnecessary, I have thick curly hair down to my butt and I barley used any of the tube. I let it sit in my hair for 2 1/2 hrs I didn’t cover it with anything in my cold apartment.I use sulfate free shampoo and only wash once a week scalp only. the picture with the braid is after my first wash there was a tiny bit of a fade but barley noticeable. I have sense washed my hair 2 times and it’s still the same vibrant as the braid picture I did redye some spots I missed and it came out gorgeous. By far my favorite color and there was zero damage to my hair in fact it felt even healthier from the sitting in the conditioner and because of the tea tree no flakes! It smelt so good my husband said he actually enjoyed the smell when we went to bed. If you get any on you just use a baby wipe or makeup remover wipe after your done applying and some Clorox wipes for counters or floors. there was zero staining in my shower when I rinsed and zero bleed on me I wrap my hair in a towel after I wash and my towel had zero color. Also there was heavy rain the first week after I dyed it and my hair got soaked at work and zero bleed on anything and this was before my first wash! It has been a month sense I dyed my hair my roots are showing and the color is still holding true to the braid picture!

Let me start by saying I've been dying my own hair crazy colors since I was a teen. I'm now in my 30s. I've done everything, tried everything. Now, I ONLY use Pravana. The longevity can't be beaten. An example: the first picture is about an hour after dying my hair. The second pic with just my lips is 3 weeks later. The third pic is 3 MONTHS later. If it weren't for roots, I wouldn't even be redoing it. I used to dye my hair every 3 weeks, bleach every three months. If I went longer than 3 weeks, it looked faded out and terrible. Now I do it 3 times a year. And my hair NEVER looks faded. Its honestly a miracle dye and I'm sad I spent years with brands like Arctic Fox. Pretty colors, terrible staying power.I also customize my colors to get more bang for my buck. Want hot pink? Well instead of buying magenta, I buy Wild Orchid and dilute it 50% with conditioner to make the color lighter. If I want a lighter pink, I go even more or I buy the magenta and dilute that way down. Plus, I always leave my dye on for an hour. You can go even longer if you want. The other two pictures are playing with Pravana reds. The one with my hand in my face is just their red. Nothing added, nothing diluted. Well, I wanted more of a blood red than a fire truck so I added in a dollop of blue to get what you see in the final picture. With my daughter's hair, I really experiment with the colors, mixing and diluting to see what I can get.IMPORTANT! PRAVANA DOES NOT WORK ON VIRGIN HAIR! Your hair has to have been chemically treated. So if your roots have never been bleached, it won't take. Literally the only time I've ever heard negatives about it, it was someone who didn't know this: a natural blood attempting pink tips.I just made another order and this time, I think I wanna go pastel pink. If I can lift this bright pink enough, I'm sure it will look fantastic. Might update this with the photos in the future.

My favorite direcr dye!
I've been using direct dyes for the past 10 years. For a long time I used Pravana but then I lost contact with the friend who was buying for me since you need a license.I switched to Artic Fox because I heard great things and ended up using it for 3 years. I thought it was great but after thinking about pravana, it just doesn't keep the undertone as well. I have plum hair that I dont change so I want the color to STAY. Even washing in cold water would make the undertone wash out.The longest part of my hair kept the color I wanted and I realized it was my Pravana from 3 years ago. I immediately ordered these and mixed 2 Wild Orchid with a touch of blue. I have very long hair. (The pinkish hue on the paper towel is just Wild Orchid).TIPS: Make sure to test the color on a napkin. As you can see the dye is extremely dark in the bowl but its not a good indicator of color. Pravana stains more than any other dye. Use Aquaphor on your hairline/neck to avoid this. Since I have fake nails that poke through gloves I always coat my finger tips in aquaphor before putting my gloves on. Remove extra color from your skin with rubbing alcohol.Wash your hair upside down so the color doesn't run on your body (it will dye you). This also helps when you are using extremely cold water to keep the dye longer.Lastly, put any remaining dye in a conditioner bottle thats 1/4 full. Use this as conditioner when you need a color refresh between dyes.Hope this helps! Keep the fun colors!
