Very sturdy metal sprinkler that works well
I read several negative reviews of this item so when I ordered it I wasn't sure what to expect. I will tell you though that in my experience this is a quality product that I am very happy with. First, it isn't easy to find an impact sprinkler like this which connects to a hose. There are some out there but most are plastic pieces of junk that won't last very long. This is a sturdy and high quality metal which seems very rugged and should last for many uses.Second, I read a lot of complaints about the settings of the sprinkler and what it supposedly could or could not do. I will tell you that it is highly adjustable if you know what you are doing. You can set the distance and pattern with a little trial and error. There are no directions but it isn't really all that complicated.Third, I read a lot of complaints about not working well with low pressure. I am on a water well and pressure is never terribly high but it functions well for me. I would note, however, that when pressure drops sometimes it stops rotating because it does rely on a certain level of pressure to function properly. How much is enough? I can't say for certain but on a regular city water supply delivering normal pressure you would be more than fine. On a water well like I am it is still fine most of the time, but could be an issue if your pressure is too low. This is no different than pretty much any other sprinkler though so if its an issue with other sprinklers it probably is with this one as well.As a final note I would just say that I am very happy with this sprinkler head. It is every bit as good as permanent sprinkler heads like you find in an underground sprinkler system but can be moved wherever you want it. It is also very sturdy and can be adjusted to deliver water anywhere you want it.

Great Sprinkler, Period
We’ve had a few of the plastic sprinklers, which are adjustable, lightweight and generally work well. But they rarely seem to last more than a year or two. Not good. This sprinkler is clearly well-built and uses a time-tested design that does a good job throwing water near and far, and that is adjustable, as is the degree of a circle that you want covered.I even like the sound the sprinkler makes as it’s watering. So, well-built, easy to adjust, works great — five stars.

Good
I bought this last summer and have had no problems so it is durable. Easy to use, just screw in the hose. The size is what you would expect. No leakage at the connection. The spray pattern is adjustable so you can use it anywhere. Overall a good value.

This is the king of impact sprinklers, despite its minor flaws.
I have owned this item for 9 years. It did not work satisfactorily on a well-supplied water system; but that is the fault of pressure - NOT the item. On public water supply the item rocks, and works as beautifully and satisfactorily as the Rainbird underground system I had at a previous home. The pin can get stuck sometimes requiring a screwdriver or some leveraging tool to pry it out of place. The screws can sometimes be turned with my fingers; other times with a Philips screwdriver. If you own a well system, consider some kind of pump that increases your psi. The oscillation gets stuck in one place when the pressure is too low. Because of how the pin gets so badly stuck (and has caused some finger injury before I learned that it cannot always be moved by fingers) I am denying it the 5th star

Good product
I purchased this as we reseeded our front Boulevard or the city did for us. I was tired of the cheap plastic sprinklers that you can only find at the hardware stores being in the landscaping field. I know Rainbird a lot of people have that for their houses so I’m like what the heck let me get her to try this thing, a solid brass I believe with the stake it is very high-quality and it shot ji problem. I have not used it again since that one year it’s actually sitting in my basement, but I know if I ever needed it again it would be ready to go.

Cannot Adjust the length of Spray Using Knob
This cheap plastic head does not properly adjust the "water throw' distance. I have turned it every which way and it does not move the upper flapper into the flow stream for distance control. I have been force to use the plastic set screw to make this adjustment and it is difficult to do. I have had many of these plastic heads and they have all been able to adjust water flow distance by simply turning the top round adjustment knob. This one does not. I do not recommend purchasing this product.

Great sprinkler while it lasted
This sprinkler worked great for a season before the impact lever snapped at some point in storage and now it won't rotate while spraying. The metal spike is sturdy enough but the functional mechanisms are mostly plastic, rendering this useless if one of them goes out. Sad to have to shop for another one after 10 hours of use.

Better than the stuff at the big box home improvement stores.
This is not a 'cheap' water sprinkler but upon reading reviews I decided to spend more to start and hope it was worth it. At the same time as I made this purchase I picked up two $9 sprinklers at the big blue home improvement store after just two months I can report the Rain Bird is the only one still performing perfectly. The quality of build is better than the price might suggest with proper metal spike, brass coupling with a stainless inlet screen something all sprinklers should have while sadly most will not. The range of motion, distance achieved and capability to quickly adjust pattern makes this the clear choice for a yard lawn watering duties (or garden if you place on pole or tripod). I would love to have two more of these and when I can afford them this will be my choice. Wish I could have my money back wasted on the $9 Orbits, because Rain Bird is the best.
