I use this every day at work. It's sturdy and stable. I use it with a Pedco UltraPod Pedco UltraPod Lightweight Camera Tripod that I've had for over 20 years. The combination of the UltraPod and this phone holder works great. I removed the 90° bracket from the holder and have never used it - I usually mount the phone holder directly to the UltraPod using the center mounting point. Thanks to the UltraPod ball swivel and clamp I can set my phone to any position I need. Great for taking photos, reading, watching videos or movies, and much more. In addition, I can strap the UltraPod to a variety of things, such as a pole, tree limb, etc. I bought the UltraPod for backpacking as a lightweight tripod for scenic photos before smartphones. This phone holder makes my UltraPod useful again. The combination gets lots of attention and compliments. I also use this phone holder with Sony's Proforma PFVCTSC1 Suction Cup Mount for SONY Action Cam, (Black) in my car. September 2022 update: Seven years later and these phone holders continue to work great.

I've used this for several months. It has great adjustability. My phone stays in it securely. The size is optimal. You can move it around easily. The magnet strength is good. It is starting to get some wear. A tiny piece on the end has broken, but it's still usable and safe to hold my phone. It hasn't impacted function yet. I feel it's a good value. I think most of these devices break easily, but this one has held up decently. I like the way you can adjust it. You can push a red button to loosen, and it has a sliding mechanism inside to tighten to the desired phone width. It also has rubber flexible pieces to help secure the phone. I don't worry about my phone flying out of it like other products. It's secure.

My goal for this product was to be able to safely attach my phone to a tripod to video sports events. This product meets my expectations and I would recommend because: 1) It is sturdy. If you have used a clamp on a Gorilla Pod holder, this is much more sturdy. Other than the screw and thread holes, the product is made of plastic ... but it is of good quality. 2) The clamp utilizes a screw mechanism instead of a spring. The top and bottom of the clamp have hard rubber on them to grip your phone. To me, this is more secure than most spring loaded products I have tried. 3) Attachment thread hole for normal photography tripods is standard size, and easily screws in 4) Fits an iPhone 6S+ with ample extra room ... you can use this with a large protective case

Super helpful for getting behind the scenes footage or for recording videos while shooting photos

It worked great with my Canon T7i even though you heard the clicking of my shutter but you could turn the volume off when watching a football play, which I am shooting. However, when I bumped up to a faster shutter camera, the whirring of my shutter caused so much vibration during the videos that they were almost useless. I couldn't pad it because there was little room left for my iphone 11. Great product when not shooting the play, however. Everyone loved the concept!

This review is for the Ulanzi Tripod Mount/Vertical Bracket. I got this because it has both vertical and horizontal positions and because it was inexpensive ($7.95). I have it paired with an Ultra-Pod II mini tripod, and the two together make a sturdy platform for my iPhone 7. Some of the reviews for this tripod mount talk about a cheesy metal on plastic threaded connection that easily fails. There are NO metal on plastic threaded fittings on this product. All threaded fittings are metal on metal, and the tripod mount fittings are metal inserts. I was pleased to see this, and I do not expect this product will break. I suppose the knob used to tighten the clamp on the phone could break if you overtighten, but there is no need to overtighten. The corrugated rubber clamping surfaces provide a very effective hold on the phone, so only a light tension is needed.

I actually use just the top part of this that clamps the phone in conjunction with an upright coil charger stand in the car. It’s large enough where it fits around the car charger stand and still clamps on to my phone that is in its phone case. I have a magnetic base for the phone charger so it doesn’t move from its position and the clamp keeps the phone in place on the charger bar from movement from when you’re driving. Very easy to attach quickly your phone in place and to remove your phone with a simple twist of the knob. Overall I say very well-made and a decent price for what you get.

It's my new go to item that I keep in my bag. I never know when I'll have the opportunity to film with my phone and take pictures with my camera at the same time! A bonus is that I can also use it to carry light (my phone case has a magnet that works with my small light!)

I purchased this to mount a cellphone and Canon EOS R to the DJI Ronin S for active-tracking and while it worked well enough for that purpose, I am not convinced about the quality of this unit. I'm still on the lookout for a cheap version of the DJI mount, as it looks a lot more sturdy. I can see this Ulanzi unit breaking because the clamp is a bit clunky and removing the phone wasn't effortless. But it's early days. Let's see how we go. 3.5 stars
