Great wax!
I love this Jolie Finishing Wax! It goes on smoothly and evenly, with no strong odor at all, which is a huge plus when working indoors. I used it to seal some home décor pieces, and it gave everything a beautiful, soft finish without changing the color. A little goes a long way, and it buffs out nicely for a durable, professional-looking topcoat. I also appreciate that it’s non-hazardous and easy to work with. Definitely a must-have if you’re doing furniture and DIY projects—highly recommend!

Great product for beginners
I have never used a black decorative wax before so I was so nervous about using this, but I had a look in mind for my armoire and this surpassed my expectations! I thought it was expensive for the size when I received it, however when I used it I realized the price for the size is great because a little goes a long way! Its so buttery and easy to use. If you make a mistake while applying it, it's easy to clean off anf fix. When its completely dry, it hardens to creates a very durable finish. The picture is of my armoire I painted with white chalk paint and rubbed black Jolie finishing wax in the crevices to create the look, the picture is taken after finishing the paint and suing the armoire for 4 months.

A Fantastic Product .. easy to use!
What a great product! I’ve done a lot of furniture refinishing for many years, and I haven’t used this particular product before. I’m impressed! It was easy to use, and it went on so smoothly with the piece that I was working on. The matte finish felt like butter as I applied it, and the wood accepted it perfectly! I worried about how it would match with the water-based stain that we chose to use … but it was perfect! Rule of thumb: always match water-based products together! Never apply water based and oil based on the same medium….it would be disastrous! Trust me on that! When we applied the final coat of this Jolie clear finishing wax, the whole effect was stunning! Thank you for such a great product!

Quality product
Tbh I’ve not worked with many waxes, this one does seem easy to work with, but the black didn’t provide much coverage. Not sure if that’s what was expected.

Wax for chalked paint
Works great. Covers the chalked paint and gives a nice finish. Better than the clear coat.

Used as a base for Amy Howard Dark Antique wax - - beautiful!
This was my first time attempting to antique a wood frame. I read up on it, watched countless youtube videos and bought this, a couple of brushes and a tub of Amy Howard Dark Antique wax. At the time of my order, the Jolie brand of black wax was out of stock so that's the reason I purchased the dark wax in the Amy Howard brand. It was stupidly easy to transform a beautifully shaped faux wood mirror frame to something that looks like a true antique. I've never, ever used this product or done anything like this before and I am thrilled with the results! I don't have the budget to spend hundred of $ on a large, framed mirror but really wanted one for above our credenza. I found the perfectly sized one at Target. Online, it looked like it had a wood frame. I picked it up and it felt more like plastic. Maybe it was wood, but if it was, it was cheap and not of high quality. It was on sale, the size and shape were perfect so I really wanted to find a way to make this work. I had no idea what I was doing, but after watching several youtube videos, I gave it a shot. Not only was this super easy, but the results are amazing. I brushed this clear wax on first, followed with the dark wax. Oh my. Instant upgrade and improvement. It took me a few experimental strokes to find that stippling followed by light and stippling brush strokes worked the best to give that "old wood" shaded effect. It honestly took me a total of 15 minutes to go from cheap frame to rich aged wood. The only negative I can mention, is that 24 hours later, it still feels quite waxy. This is a frame and it's hanging on the wall, so it won't be touched or handled very much. Had I used this on a chair or bench, I'd be concerned about this, but in my case, I am over the moon happy.
