Carbon's Golden Malted Pancake and Waffle Flour Mix - 80 ounces - Complete Mix - Just Add Water

I mixed 3 cups of mix with 2 cups of water and added a half stick of melted butter. I let the batter rest for about 5 minutes to puff up a little. I preheated my iron to 350° and sprayed the bottom liberally with coconut oil. I poured batter just until the wells were completely covered, then sprayed the top of my iron generously before closing for five minutes. No peeking. Do not open to “check on your waffle.” They came out PERFECTLY and were so delicious.I experienced a little sticking on one waffle on my first batch. I was a little more careful to get good oil coverage and no more problems.Great waffles. Light, fluffy, nice flavor and texture. Lightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.

We usually buy Carbon's other mix where you had eggs, water and butter. There have been a few times when we had the hankering for a waffle and we didn't have eggs on hand. I thought this would be a good alternative as well as convenient for camping as well. The taste is fine. It is very similar to the other mix. However, these stuck to our waffle iron like crazy. We've had our iron for about 5 years and have never had anything stick to it. It is well seasoned. Every single waffle had to be scraped out in pieces. Not to waste such tasty morsels, I just poured some syrup over the destruction and had at it. Later we tried cooking spray between each one but it had no effect. The waffle stuck evenly to every surface. Really frustrating.

This is the mix that Hampton Inn and Hilton uses, and it's always consistently delicious. I love that you only have to add water, not eggs, etc. My only wish is that it was cheaper!Shipping was faster than expected- I bought this mix for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas and initially was told it wouldn't arrive until Jan 7, but it got here Dec. 24, just in time!

I am typically a "from-scratch" cook. But I've yet to find a waffle recipe that beats Carbon's (I have not tried pancakes from the mix). The Carbon waffles taste like those great waffles you can get at the restaurant....or from the hotel breakfast bar. When I ordered this, I thought it was just a larger version of the Carbon's mix that comes in the cans. But with this mix, you only need to add water & a little melted butter. I was a little worried at first, but it was JUST as good as the version where you have to add eggs and milk, and easier to boot! Carbon makes THE BEST waffle mix. I would go through the cans too quickly, so this 5-lb bag is terrific, and it is a sturdy plastic, resealable bag. I highly recommend it.

We do not buy anything else!!! We came across this product as it was served in both waffle, and, pancake forms during our hotel stay for a Green Bay Packers home game in Sept. 2018!!!! We asked the black female chef for the brand name and she gave it to us, agreeing they get more compliments on this one item than any other! We had multiple family members with us at the time and they have not bought any other product since that tastes so good!!!

I have used the Golden Malted regular mix for several years. My family loves it and we have waffles at least once a week. However recently I can no longer find the regular mix at Amazon. So I took a gamble and ordered the complete mix. I followed the instructions on the bag (3 cups mix and 2 cups of water.) And started making waffles....With the first one I figured I hadn’t let the waffle iron heat up all the way. The second was worse and half stuck to the top. The third ripped in half and stuck to the top and bottom. The fourth, I figured I had been to impatient and under cooked. So I let the fifth cook longer, somehow it burned and ripped apart. After that I gave up and ate Sausage for breakfast. Two of my teenagers wondered down as the morning progressed and both failed to make anything resembling a waffle. My dog was happy with all the crumbs on the floor.I am not sure it was my batch or the instructions were wrong but I am not happy with this product.

I use this brand of mix all the time. In fact, I’ve used it for years! This particular bag was old or something. It didn’t matter whether I used it for waffles or pancakes, everything came out wrong. Flavor was off, and everything stuck to the pan/waffle iron.

Before I discovered this "Complete" mix I was using the "Original"version of Carbon's Golden Malted Mix that comes in the big can. My wife and I agreed the "complete" mix makes the best tasting waffles and pancakes we've ever had. I follow the instructions on the bag and add 2 tablespoons of butter, and the result is very similar to the canned version except the taste is a little bit sweeter. Texture and consistency of the batter is the same between the two. I recommend placing the bag into a Hefty 2.5 Gallon Freezer bag to keep it fresh once you open it.
