Loads of fun
Fun to toss around. Has a notable shock, but not frightenly strong, just shockingly strong. One thing we noticed when tossing it around is that the shock doesn't last long, and often activated when the ball was in the air during a toss, so there were often quite a few tosses before anyone actually got shocked. We all started holding it for a second or so before tossing to someone else, just to make it more fun. Survived a few drops while were playing with it, but feels like it might not survive a lot of drops.

fun while it lasted---dont ever drop this ball as it will stop working.
As others have stated this ball is fun while it lasted. Provides a pretty nice shock which makes for a fun and anxious game that keeps adrenaline going. However don't drop this ball, because it breaks the battery contact and thus making this ball useless. As it no longer will light up or shock you.---which is the whole purpose of this ball. I think the manufacturer should consider this a known defect and remanufacture this ball, or simply discount the price considerably. I read several reviews before I got this ball that it breaks very easily. I discounted those reviews and bought it anyway----literally 5 minutes after my brother playing with this. It was dropped and no longer worked after that. BUYER BEWARE.

DARON SHOCK BALL PLUS BEAN BOOZLED---Lots of Laughs!
So I seem to be the party planner for everyone I know and when they ask me what the most HILARIOUS LAUGH OUT LOUD GAME I would recommend for a party I always tell them to get the Daron SHOCK Ball...They look at me funny then I explain that I came up with this game 3 or 4 years back when I found this SHOCK BALL on Amazon, what's funnier than seeing someone get shocked, well let me tell u: You can have as many players as u want, sit in a circle inside or out, get u some bean boozled jelly beans (I found on Amazon with the spinner), then turn on your SHOCK BALL, u start passing the SHOCK BALL in a circle counter clock wise from each player to the next (kind of like hot potatoe), the person who has it when it goes off not only gets shocked and u get a good laugh out of that but then u also have to spin the spinner on the bean boozled jelly bean game and pray u don't get SKUNK OR DOGFOOD OR Another gross flavor, which then makes u laugh again seeing people's faces, it is so much FUN---WE LOVE OUR SHOCK BALL!

It REALLY shocks and I'm not sure when to use it really.
It REALLY shocks and I'm not sure when to use it really. In terms of the shock, it feels like if you've ever picked up a loose Christmas light wire or maybe stuck something in an outlet. Its that certain tingling feeling you recognize as electricity. There are many drawbacks to this item however.Opening it to insert the battery was a hassle, as was closing itto activate it, you need to insert a little key, in a super special way or it won't workthe key is a hasslethen I lost the key and had to improviseit stopped working shortly aftertoo soon for new batteries..Its not suitable for kids, maybe older ones , over 16 or with supervisionIts fun to play with as a conversation piece more than a game. You can have fun seeing what parts of your body it will shock with

Shocking fun
I gave this to my brother for Christmas (He is a thirty-something kid). The teenagers and adults, I wouldn't recommend this for kids under 10, had a "ball" with this. They played hot potato with it for hours. Squealing and screaming with delight, as people arrived they were greeted by "Do you (OUCH) wanna OUCH) play?" LOLThe reason I only gave it 4 stars is, I think it is poorly constructed. It is made out of hard plastic and with the way that thing is thrown after someone is shocked, I do not think it will hold up long. It already had a small crack in the plastic after one night. I think they could have made it out of rubber (being that the metal shock pads are what shock you and not the plastic) so it could hold up to being dropped. I would have paid more money for a sturdier ball.

Great game I bought for my sons 12th birthday kids enjoyed getting slightly shocked lol
Bought this for my son for his 12th birthday and him and his friends thought it was cool to get shocked! Lol of course it’s a slight shocking it doesn’t hurt by any means but it does get your attention! It’s a great game for kids teenagers and adults a good family game .. the ball is small and is heavy weighted for as small as it is it’s about the size of a softball so beware when throwing you want to toss and keep in mind it is heavy to whom your tossing it to

Buy this and chase around your coworkers!
I bought this for work and use it to scare individuals from my office.UPDATE: 8/15/2015Received ball and tried it out. ouch. ouch. ouch. hmmm... not bad.UPDATE: 9/03/2015A coworker saw me casually fondling it at the daily scrum meeting. He looked interested and scared upon seeing the metal nodes.UPDATE: 9/22/2015Today I chased someone really annoying out of my office.I managed to shock them remotely by holding the ball in one hand and touching them with the other.UPDATE: 10/04/2015A coworker has filed a lawsuit against me for chasing them with the ball. For the record the ball was not active at the time and they merely ran on instinct. It was probably the right choice.UPDATE: 11/01/2015Ongoing lawsuits and litigation against my person continue. I fear for my children.

Don't waste your money
I bought this from Amazon for my son for Christmas. Of course, I bought it early so it's apparently not eligible for return or replacement. On Christmas day, he opened the product and I discovered it was broken. The screw which is used to open the battery compartment was not a normal straight, Phillips, hex, etc. I still can't tell you what it is after closely reviewing it. And it wouldn't open--I finally had to use needle nose pliers to open it (and discovered that the screw itself was significantly bent). I put batteries in, straightened the screw, and closed the battery compartment and was not surprised when the product failed to work. That's right--I'm the proud owner of a non-returnable, broken, poorly designed product...the only enjoyment I got out of it was the challenge of trying to figure out what the head of the screw was...
