Great heat gun!
The media could not be loaded. Fantastic heat gun for doing heat, shrink tubing, etc. Don’t know where this thing has been my entire life as it works fantastically for multiple tasks. Battery life is very good even with a smaller battery and unit seems very durable. High low selector, which seems to work very well for different temperatures and having the trigger safety lockout is Especially helpful. Works really good on shrink/solder connectors as well!

Perfect for Marine Electrical Work A Must-Have Tool
As someone who does a lot of electrical work in a marine environment, this DeWalt 20V heat gun has been a game changer. It heats up fast, is compact, and completely eliminates the need for extension cords. I use it regularly for heat shrink connections on my boat, or boat trailer and it performs flawlessly even in damp, salty conditions. The cordless freedom makes tight or remote jobs so much easier, and the build quality is what you'd expect from DeWalt tough and reliable. If you're doing marine or mobile electrical work, this tool is a no-brainer

I like this tool a lot!
Works well when I don't need real high heat. You can set the switch so it stays on. It also stands up on it's own when the battery is installed.

Solid tool, have LOTS of charged batteries on hand
Very handy to be unteathered while doing automotive wiring. Works well and gets up pretty fast.Battery life is very short, as one would expect from a high draw heater. Even my 5+ amp hour batteries won't get me through a a full area of wiring when I am properly heat shrinking everything.

Great tool
Great tool, but once heated, takes a while to cool down.

Works great for drip line irrigation installation/maintenance
This cordless heat gun is just what I was hoping for! Another perfect DeWalt toy to add to my collection. I am using it primarily for heating up 1/2” irrigation drip line hose, making it very easy to poke in the 1/4” line connections and couplings between 1/2” line. The heat output is perfect for this application and the cordless aspect makes working out in the yard very easy. I’ve got lots of extra 20volt batteries since I have lots of DeWalt cordless power tools…so the fact that this came without a battery, no problem.

It's alright.
I got this Dewalt heat gun to replace my corded Heat gun. Basically I need a heat gun for speaker wire splices, or Lutron cable splices and I was trying to avoid having to pull out the extension cord that can be a pain at homes under construction that are large and have limited power outlets. I was able to use the heat shrink solder connectors I normally use, but the performance is fearless from my $24 corded unit. The air comming out is considerably less and the heat output is less as well. I really have to hold the connector up close to the heating element to get the solder to melt. I also used the curved attachment to aid with the heating process. I understand this is as probably as well as it going to get from a battery powered unit What I really hate about this product Is the trigger switch that is over engineered junk.

Hotter than…
Every man must choose a color when buying tools. I am a yellow man. Dewalt tools have nice battery life and interchangeability of the 20V system is convenient. Bought this heat gun for portability. Nice to not have to run extension cords everywhere. Tool is light even with some of the heavier DeWalt batteries. Has a nice grip just like the standard DeWalt drills. The trigger has a safety built in. Takes a minute or two to get cooking but when it does the barrel diameter is nice for focusing heat in a small area. Probably not the best if you need to heat large areas at once.
