Luck of the draw (Quality Control just doesn't CUT it)
ProsSan Mai Tri-Steel laminated blade (Certificate of Authenticity does not specify what the 3 steels are)Differentially hardenedReal Hamon (Not Acid Enhanced Either)Weighs only 2lbs 2oz without SayaGood balanceIron TsubaReal Ray skin SameCotton Ito WrappingSharpest Ryumon Katana I have seen yetConsHamon runs off the blade in a couple spots 8-10 inches from KissakeSaya came damagedBlade was slightly discolored and needed polishing (dried oil residue, no rust) due to the fact it has sat since the manufacture date in June 2013Sageo wrapped very looseOverall it seems like this sword would be a good value if the Hamon didn't run off the blade in the cutting area, the Saya wasn't damaged, and the Sageo wasn't wrapped so loose (loose Sageo may not matter to you if you untie it so you can fasten it to your Obi)
